We were looking to eat at a restaurant servicing culturally authentic food and were pretty pleased with Platos as it was the closest to our hotel. We were eager to get a table so we took a booth in the room with four booths, but I wish we would have eaten at a table with table cloths (picky, I know), but the lamp hung so low, I couldn't see my husband and it was a bit confining! The service was extremely slow, but there was a live singer (whom we couldn't see) and that helped pass the extra long wait time. Food was pretty tasty although side was lukewarm. They were out of many items on the menu. The "canoe" appetizers with veggies was very tasty. Champagne sangria was too. It is pricey for the food one received.

We went with a large group, with no invitation & they were able to accommodate us. Members of our group enjoyed the Sangria. Service was slow, but our group is used to traveling in the Caribbean, being subject to "island time". We enjoyed our food.

We went to this restaurant for the second time and we found it is very good. The ambiance is nice, there is enough parking and is not expensive, but not cheap either. Decor is nice and the waiters are very capable. They usually have about 5 or 6 types of sangria and if you can't decide, the waiter will bring shot glasses with all alternatives so you can decide on taste and strength. I had the passion fruit sangria and my wife had the guava sangria. Both were excellent. We had fried white cheese with a guava dipping sauce as an appetizer and two different kinds of fish for the meal. Both the Mahi-Mahi filet with coconut-passion fruit glaze and the Snapper filet sautéed in butter - capers & black olives were very tasty and cooked very well, served over a root vegetable mash.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu items and served us in a fine way.

We had a great dinner here with locals. Excellent mofongo. The red beans and rice was served with the rice separate from the beans, which were in a thin sauce with potatoes. So good! The mojitos are very good - drinks are strong but not overally alcoholic. We will definitely return when we are next in San Juan.

This restaurant has lots of advertisement but it's not really that good. Whom ever is incharge of advertisement his doing a good job of it. The food is not that good. You should go some place else. Do not go to lupis Mexican it's even worst than this place.
