Ill Mulino is a great dining experience. As soon as you sit down you receive great attention and are handed anti past, garlic bread and cheeses, and a zucchini dish. The menu gives you great options of pasta, salads, meats etc. It was all delicious. The service was incredible. A table over from us was being obnoxiously loud in the restaurant and to compensate for them the restaurant not only offered for us to move to a more quiet table but took off our cocktails and dessert from the check. They really went out of their way to make sure we were having a pleasant dinner.

Expensive but it you definitely get what you pay for at Ill Mulino.

Having been to Il Mulino in NYC I was unsure of what to expect in San Juan. We were pleasantly surprized to find a most welcoming and accommodating dining experience here. The cheese and antipasti is brought as you sit and our servers were very attentive. The menu is large but we focused on veal and seafood. While the adjacent casino can be offputting we were not affected in the least and our experience was quite pleasant. The portions are large so splitting entree is good idea. The pasta dishes were all delicious and the fish and veal dishes were all very good. I would say that the quality of dining experience was equal to that of NYC, without the wait.
Really enjoyed our meal and would recommend to any one going to San Juan

As soon as you sit down you are bombarded with the drink menu, fresh free parm, bread, and some very salty zuchinni thing that had a good kick to it. We had trouble finding our waiter dir a few mins so we could order drinks. They were accomodatinf to get a specific beer from the lobby bar for one of our guests. After we placed out drinks we got some free bruschetta too by now we were getting full. I ordered the special shrimp with risotto which tasted amazing. We also got the bolonase which was really good, the ragu was ok, and my friends pasta dish was ok as well. If u go between 6-7pm its seriously discounted wine bottles! At the end the bill had somethig called the captain tip which we have never seen and we have gone to some nice places in NYC. The service was decent, food was mixed and I felt overpriced for the taste. We had no room for dessert.

Lots of sizzle, but not much sausage in San Juan. Its high ratings are a mystery. Yes, beautifully set table, extensive wine list, and abundant servers. However, fine dining for me does not include a bar down one whole side with TV playing, especially in a small setting. Same for casino-noise from next door. From time to time some person on the casino PA would loudly urge patrons to gamble-on, much like a blue-light special at K-Mart. Food was a mix of good and the ordinary, but all quite forgettable. Service was rushed at the beginning, and non-existent by the end. Finally, after being unable to get anyone’s attention, I interrupted our server from his napkin-and-cutlery chore for our bill. From our week in Puerto Rico, this was our worst, yet most expensive, dining experience. Money, calories and dining opportunity all wasted. – So say two 60-something foodies and gourmands.
