“Birds!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

What a great place with tons of bird and iguana watching. The walking paths are great and there is a variety of terrain for viewing birds. Don't miss the morro and great beach views!

“Beautiful alternative for a less crowded activity”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2014

If you enjoy no crowds, beautiful scenery & views, and some history, you can't not like this place. It really helps the budget that it is free as well, which is great.

A half day could easily be spent here, but it can also be enjoyed in an hour or so. We especially enjoyed climbing down in the bunkers, and seeing the views from that area.

Wear shoes/sandals that can get wet and muddy, because they probably will! The bathroom was clean and staff friendly. Parking is easy & the $1.00 map is basic, but helpful.

“Nice trails”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2014

This was a nice nature reserve. We like the outdoors and walk nature trails often in MD. We originally were going to rent kayaks but $12 per person per hour was too much. So we opted for a nice walk along the trails to the beach. The beach is not swimmable but it was fun to walk to. The kids caught lizards along the way and we spotted some cool spider webs. We also found 1-clawed crabs and saw a heron. Just visiting the nature reserve is free. The workers were very friendly. Also you need to have reservations for lunch if you're interested.

“Some nice views and bunkers are interesting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2014

The walk along lagoons was pretty dirty and muddy. The beaches had some trash but some good views and the bunkers on the look out were interesting although dirty and full of grafiti

“nice trails”

There are trails along the beach, inland and by lagoons. It could keep you busy for most of the day. Pretty good birding.
