“Definitely worth the trip!”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

My sister and I were in Puerto Rico last week and booked our Monkey Island tour with Keishya the week before we left. She was great over the phone, very helpful and easy to communicate with via email.

The trip itself was fantastic with Bob as our guide. We had very little kayaking experience and Bob was informative and patient; we were comfortable and confident very quickly in the open waters. The island was a great site to see with dozens of monkeys at the shore. We were also lucky enough to snorkel that day as the water was nice and clear. Overall, it was a great trip and Barefoot Travelers provided an awesome experience. Highly recommended.

“So much fun!”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

This trip out to Monkey Island, Cayo Santiago, was great! I had never been kayaking before, but the the seas weren't too rough and we managed to keep our kayak upright the whole time. Bob was a great instructor and is very knowledgeable about the island and the research conducted there as well as the spots to snorkel nearby. Well worth the drive from San Juan.

One bit of warning: the beach you launch from is in a very small town and while it seems to be a 'Public' beach, and there was not much to talk about as far as 'facilities' go.

“Best Part of Trip”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

This was our first time as a family to Puerto Rico and traveling with teenagers it can be difficult to find something we all enjoy. Hands down after our trip we all agreed that going with Barefoot Travelers by Kayak to Monkey Island was the highlight. We did the El Yunkue Rain Forest and scuba diving, along with other tourist recommendations. First of all Bob and Keishya are great and did everything to make our experience memorable from snapping photos with their camera and ours along with taking the time when snorkeling to point out all the different types of fish. We saw a ton more fish of various types and sizes then we did the next day scuba diving! Then of course there is Monkey Island which we got to see first hand and witness so many baby to adult monkeys. Bob told us all the history of the island and answered our many questions. It was a great experience and this couple knows how to accomodate travelers of all ages. Our only recommendation is to make sure your healthy and can kayak as this is not necessary the easest trip if you have any health problems or are very young, especially if it is a windy day. Bob and Keishya are fantastic at preparing you for the experience and then making it memorable. If we ever return this will definitly be the one activity we will all desire to do again.

“An Experience in Puerto Rico You Won't Forget!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

If you like monkeys and want to do something really unique in Puerto Rico, give Keishya a call! She is a top-notch, savvy tour guide with a winning personality. I had an amazing time kayaking around Monkey Island while taking a ga-zillion pictures of dozens and dozens of cute Rhesus Macaque monkeys. Keishya will teach you about the monkeys and the island and point out spots to jump in the water to snorkel. On top of taking pictures of YOU kayaking, she is a wealth of information and won't steer you wrong on fun things to do while on vacation in PR. Keishya's a gem and I guarantee you'll find yourself writing a raving review too. Go see for yourself! :)

“Great tour and guide.”
Reviewed December 25, 2012

The best kayaking snorkeling and monkeys. Worth every penny and then some. 5 stars in my book. Went with my two children and myself. Went 12/24/2012. Even contacted us to say we left our snorkels.
