The hosts of this hostel exemplifies some simple concepts (sometimes forgotten in continuously increasing capitalist, materialist and consumerist oriented modern society) which make an enormous difference in the quality of our lives. I'm talking about kindness, a sincere willingness to help and serve one's fellow man, honesty, respect, open mindedness and acceptance of differences. Such is the international atmosphere at E. Gwada Hostel led by Jean, who by the way is an excellent culinary artist in both quality, quantity of the cuisine and the price (at least 1/3 cheaper by my calculations than eating out in restaurants on the island).
I enjoyed many interesting, lively discussions with the hosts and other travelers passing through as well as the opportunity to hike in the forest, bathe in the waterfalls, snorkel, dive, among other things ... organized by or with the aide of this helpful, friendly, international staff.
The establishment maintains a high level of cleanliness (small swimming pool included) and I was able to sleep very well each night ... even until 10 am. The hostel is located in a residential neighborhood, not to far from the beaches.
Such living conditions made it easy for me to enjoy my stay in Guadeloupe to the max. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for an affordable and very hospitable stay in Guadeloupe.More
