While this may not set the world of jetset travelers on fire, it is a nice little hideaway for a mellow and relaxing time. I traveled to Guadeloupe for business and it worked out fine. The internet is on a strange 1 Hr / 3 Hr billing cycle and you gave to go to the front desk every time, but that's the only inconvenient I had.

Staff is friendly and accommodating, taxis are always in hand and also friendly. I could see myself coming back for a few days worth of down time.

Spent a week lazing by the beach and pool. Rooms are airconditioned and comfortable with a minikitchen (limited capacity and scope).
Food was very good but expensive by N American standards.
Beautiful, clean pool.
Small private beach.
15 minutes from airport but difficult to find. Need to rent a car to enjoy the beaches and sites of Guadeloupe - the hotel is a little isolated from everywhere.
It is a piece of France - staff are very friendly but do not speak much English. Small Creole restaurants near the casino are worth a visit for the experience.

Dear customer,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay! We are so glad you had an enjoyable time at La Creole Beach Hotel & Spa!

We apologize that you had difficulties to find the hotel on your way from the Airport. Please feel free to ask our Concierge Service for a full itinerary guide next time you come.

The central location of the hotel allows you to visit both sides of Guadeloupe: Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre. It is also close to Pointe-à-Pitre port where you can take the boat to visit our other islands like Les Saintes or Marie-Galante. Guadeloupe is not a small island and it is essential to rent a car to be more autonomous and discover our beautiful patrimony.

We passed your comments onto our different departments so that our operational managers can follow up with our staff.

We hope to see you again soon for a memorable experience at La Creole Beach Hotel & Spa

Warmest Regards

We were here for one night (as our other hotel had a problem due to the rain).
We arrived late but were courteously greeted and shown on the hotel map (fairly easy to follow) where we would find our room and where to go for breakfast the next morning.

We were in room 201 of the Mancina building.
The room was quite large, all painted white with white tile and pine wood accents -- very clean and fresh looking. Thru the window past the trees and other buildings you could see the ocean. The bed was huge -- king size with reading lamps on either side; It also had a large closet with a small safe inside. In addition to the bed, there was a breakfast nook: dining counter with stools, a small refrigerator, 2-burner stove (older style), a microwave, along with pots, pans, dishes, etc. 2 other chairs, full-length mirror, and a small flat screen TV. The TV got a number of french-language stations as well as a couple music channels (zouk/local).

The bathroom was small with a sink and shower/tub combo. The tub was narrow. Everything looked brand new. Free amenities (bath gel, bath salts, maoisturizer, face soap, shoe polisher) were nice/upscale quality.
The airconditioning was wonderful -- working perfectly.

The included breakfast was in the restaurant to the left of the pool. It was quite good -- a very extensive and large selections of fruits, breads, etc. and included sausage, bacon, boiled eggs, omelets/eggs cooked to order, 4 types of fruit juices, cold cereals, cheeses, etc etc. Coffee/tea is at your table served on request by the servers. You will NOT go hungry here.

The beach is private (perhaps man made?) with lots of chairs, some huts, and a few umbrellas. Plus water equipment for rent. The large hotel pool is clean and surrounded by deck chairs.

There is a parking lot across from the lobby if you have a car; but there are plenty of taxis, also, available at the door. It is in a crowded area quite close to other hotels. This is an area good for the less adventurous. You could be here without a car -- walk to a few other restaurants and the Gosier casino and not leave the property, if that is your nature. There was some limited English ability at the front desk, and the staff was very friendly. Check out time is noon.

On the plus side, the resort has a charming open-air construction, lots of different spaces (bar/lounge, lobby, pool side, garden, etc), a well-designed multi-level pool, a good breakfast buffet, and generally positive ambiance.

On the minus side, there's nothing but weeds in the lagoon, the service is uneven to horrific (they couldn't tell us how to retrieve the messages from our phone, and then didn't tell us about the messages that were left for us at reception), and there's not enough activity at the hotel to make a vacation complete without lots of extra money spent on tours and other island activities.

The hotel is also on the older side with some wear and archaic features lessening the feel of luxury that one might expect at a higher-end resort.

Room Tip: We paid extra for the sea view -- definitely worth it to not have guests walking by our windows all...

My wife and I spent a week here and enjoyed the pools, beach, food, bar and entertainment.

Our room, beachfront, was large, clean and perfectly equipped. It was kept that way by housekeeping all the time.

A pretty beach, lovely views. A lot of activities to participate in or you may be like us. We swam and laid on beach or lounges, had no need to do anything else.

The food at the breakfast and dinner buffets was wonderful!.

Breakfast selections were same each day, but there was a wide selection including omelets and eggs 'made to order'. Then the usual accompaniments: bacon and sausages. But also other more local items. And of course the fabulous breads and pastries!.

Dinner buffet was just as fabulous, only difference selections changed each night. from roasted duck, roast beef, lamb chops, all sorts of fish including langoustine stew and other local dishes. Also a pasta station each night again with changing sauces.

The other restaurant offered lunch (we never ate lunch all week) and special dinner selections. The big one? A lobster tank in the center where with the chef and you selected your dinner which he grilled to perfection.

The bar was fun and the tenders attentive and made excellent cocktails. The local rums were not to our liking but that is a matter of person preference.

And most evenings there was entertainment. One night a steel drum band unlike others we have heard on other islands. Big crowd salsa dancing. Another evening a jazz combo!

OK, so what might be negative about Le Creole? This place and the island is more French than France. The only person, including guests, who spoke English was the matre de in the restaurant. We asked about the nationality of guests. 80% from France then Italy, Germany and the US about 2%. So if you don't speak French, and are frustrated trying to get along in a place where English is all but non-existent then Le Creole is not for you.

Room Tip: SInce rooms are pricey, I would suggest ocean view rather than ocean front. Also no rooms on the gro...

I wish I didn't have to write this poor review.
We booked a stay for our entire family and in laws (9 persons for 2 weeks) on half-board and expected much better (customer) service. You can only imagine how much we spent for so many adults for 2 weeks at this hotel in the Corail rooms.
We called the hotel the day prior to departure to double check that we were all staying in the Corail building with a sea view and sort of near each other. When we arrived they tried to put us in Les Palmes. We said no> they said they were all booked. How is this possible when our reservation made months before was done for Corail and they confirmed the day before ?!?
After about 2 hours of waiting in the lobby, they took us to our rooms. Some rooms were very nasty, smelled like cigarettes and walls full of mold (I should have taken pictures... totally not acceptable for a 4*)...after complaining they moved us and moved us again until we got a decent room for the price we paid! Our room didnt have a great ocean view but my parents' room's view was great.
The balcony is ridiculously small, cant even fit a chair....I wonder why they didnt make them bigger for people to sit and enjoy outside from the room in the evening...
The bathroom was ok. Shower worked fine. Nothing amazing though. It was never very clean, never wiped the bathroom counter etc.... the floor was poorly cleaned (and Im not picky at all).
Bed was good.
Tv is very very small ...
The beach is nice but kinda small. You cant walk to the other beach next to the hotel unless you go by the road.
THe pool was great and always clean.
Food is good, big breakfast, eggs, cereals, lots of fruits, pastries etc....
Check your bill every day because they had a very bad tendency of adding crazy charges to our room, and it took almost our entire trip to get rid of all the charges (we were on half board but they would add charges for dinner here and there, a dinner with 200 euros worth of charge at the other restaurant etc... and the worse is that we didnt know if they meant to do it or if they were honest mistake)
The people working there are very very unpleasant. Every time you ask them something they act disturbed.
The hotel looks very nice and has a great location right in the middle of the island> rent a car though to get out and visit.
Drinks are very expensive at the bar (9euros for cocktails and 4.5/5euros for a beer)
we would buy rhum or beer at the grocery store and store in the room's fridge
Oh and if you wanna rent a kayak it will cost you 25 euros for 1hr !!! if u wanna play volleyball its a 10euros deposit to get the ball etc....

The expensive price of the hotel doesn't match the 4*. The service was terrible and made us, customers, feel like crap, because every day something was wrong. (especially trying to fix our bill...wasted 1/2hr to 1hr every day at the front desk and nobody seemed to care). The problem in the hotel is that none of the workers care about the customers. There is no team work whatsoever. If service doesnt improve, this hotel is going to disappear soon.
Sad to have spent XXXXX EUROS on this hotel
