“Excellent Hotel for Motorcycle Groups”
Reviewed April 20, 2012

When our Northern Ireland Rat Motorcycle Club group of 107 people on 89 motorcycles descended on the Nethybridge Hotel for our annual three day long weekend in Scotland, we were greeted by Robert, the manager, and made most welcome. The hotel was warm and cosy despite the overnight sub-zero temperatures and the staff were most attentive. We were able to park the bikes along the roadside in front of the hotel in good view and were provided with the facility to be able to wash them down each evening. Food was plentiful and of a high standard. Robert kept us all on our toes and entertained at dinner each evening with his speeches. The Highland Banquet on our last night included a piper and “The Beef” was enjoyed by all. After dinner entertainment was laid on each night and a great time was had by all. We highly recommend this hotel for large motoring clubs of all kinds and as a biker friendly hotel in a great location with access to some of the best roads in the world.

Visited with husband and 13 year old son on Easter Monday for a 2 day break. We booked a double club room and a single. The club room is well worth the money.2 minibottles of wine in room every day, crisps, nuts, chocolates, dressing gowns, slippers and a fabulous view.
We also met with friends who had been there for Easter and said it was fabulous. If last year was anything to go by when we were theer then it would be.
We as a family love Nethy Bridge as a village. It is like stepping back in time.We play scrabble and sit and gaze in to the welcoming blazing fire in the lounge and entrance.
We are already booked for the Highland games on 11 August and I would urge anyone to come.It is a weekend out of this world.

Once again a big thank you to Robert,Kay and staff in the restaurant,Kelly and of course Sean our wine waiter who we give an awful hard time to which he copes with good humour and personality.

Loved the meals and the breakfast,Good choice of meals and fabulous value for the money spent.

Room Tip: Book a club room its well worth the extra £20

Once again we have returned to this fantastic part of the country, stunning scenery good food great hotel and lovely entertainment. The few days we were here have been great, the food was excellent and since it has been decorated and the function room updated there is nothing to fault at all. Every time we come up to the Nethybridge Hotel we find some fantastic places still to see. This time it was the dolphins at Munlochy bay, it was very special to see them in their natural habitats, also we managed to get up on the fenicular railway up the cairgorms which is a sight so special definately worth a visit, and yes the osprey that visit down the road at the rspb centre have started laying their eggs which you can watch on the computer which is on the reception desk. As always the management and staff excelled, nothing too much trouble. Cant wait to return later in the year.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have a lovley garden view.

We stayed here as part of a group and were very well looked after. Really good food and large rooms. The decor is a bit old now, but it's good value and set in stunning scenery. The locals bar is full of characters, but their more delicate clientele have the option of the residents bar too!

having stayed at the Nethybridge Hotel many times over 20 years this is the end.
Freezing cold room, terrible food to the extent that we gave breakfast on the second morning a miss. The evening meal was obviously pre prepared and frozen and then reheated. The breakfast on the first morning was dire , undrinkable coffee, burnt scrambled eggs, microwaved mushrooms. Dinner on second evening was even worse, greasy scampi, with undercooked chips accompanied by diced turnip and what appeared to be congealed cabbage, all inedible.
This large once grand hotel had during our stay a maximum occupancy of 7 guests, so it should have not been to difficult to feed us properly.

Room Tip: go somewhere else

Stayed here one night on a DB&B rate and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is an old Victorian Hotel constructed from massive granite blocks in the traditional style. It is a large structure with lots of lounges, sitting rooms and space to wander in. Open fires in some public areas gave it a warmth however the rooms had effective central heating so cold was not a problem. We had a great deal on the DB&B package and could not really fault the room or food for the money paid. Staff were pleasant and friendly but remember this is not Gleneagles so do not expect 5 star at this money. That said the food was simple but plentiful and staff came round with extra helpings half way through dinner which was a nice touch. Breakfast was very good indeed and although a buffet the items were well cooked and piping hot. Surroundings are obviously outstanding since this is the Cairngorms area and difficult to match for sheer grandeur. Worth a stay on any visit to the area.

Went to the Highland Break, 17-19th March. Booked a Club Room, it was gorgeous! plenty room, four poster bed, wine and nibbles on arrival and following days. Have been here in the past and this year it appears there have been a few upgrades, new carpets, upholstery etc. The staff are young, but excellent at their job, very efficient. The price, food, accomodation were great.x would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Room Tip: Club room well worth the extra money x
