Went to the Sands Hotel for evening meal. Not been for a wee while. Great welcome and found us a table quickly. Had Haggis n black pudding bon bons n whisky sauce. Excellent. My wife had Mushrooms again very nice. My wife tgen had cauliflower n broccoli mornay she said it was lovely. I had crispy shredded beef with sweet n sour . Very very good But smaller portion than you get in other dishes thankfully my wife did not eat all her chips .so iI did and felt satisfied. Starting to look a wee bit tired needing a facelift. But still of good quality both staff and food and quick service.

Thank Andrew I

We stayed the weekend for a wedding. Val and her staff were hard working and friendly. The wedding buffet was lovely with plenty to eat. The breskfasts were plentiful and cooked to order and tasty. The porridge was lovely. We had a great weekend despite the fact that the rooms were a bit tired.thank you for a fun weekend.

We ate at this restaurant this evening, it was very busy but they were welcoming and found us a table very quickly. We have vegetarians in the family and it is often difficult to find anywhere with decent food for them. We were impressed that they had 5 vegetarian options - the vegetarian haggis was a definite hit!

Thank you very much for your uplifting comment Elizabeth. If you dined on Sunday we were very busy due to non booking large parties which stretched us. I am so pleased you were accommodated and things were to your satisfaction. We hope you visit again, very kind regards, you have made an old man very happy,

There was a nice atmosphere here. Nice place to sit outside. I had mouse mariniere and whilst the sauce was good it was clear that the mussels were not freshly cooked. This was a shame as they tasted good but the texture was overcooked. Quite large menu and reasonably priced

Been here a couple of times now, excellent soups, good pub grub, decent sized pots of tea, no meal deals everything appears to be priced individually, the decor is of a seaside/nautical recycling theme nice enough but a bit dated.
