Visited recently for Sunday Lunch. Requested to book for 1pm over the phone but were told there was already a party of 6 booked for that time so the chef would not be able to serve us both, so instead booked for half 12. Would concern me slightly if they were actually full if the kitchen would be able to manage, as apart from the table of six and our table of four there was probably only another six customers dining.
The Sunday menu is fairly limited but a selection of most things you would expect and at £11.95 for 2 courses not exactly expensive!! Between us we had the prawn cocktail, whitebait and fried camembert. All very acceptable but as you would expect from the price, not terribly large portions. For mains Pork, Haddock and Chicken Pie again all very nice but nothing exceptional. All was well cooked and accompanied with a decent bowl of veg.
The girls serving were very well trained, polite and friendly and the place itself still looks fairly smart after the refurb I would guess just over a year ago.
For a quick Sunday bite at a reasonable price faultless, but it certainly isn't gourmet!
