“The alternative Carnforth refreshment room.”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

So it did not feature in the film that made Carnforth station famous but it is still worth a visit if you have the chance. Quirky hours but a fine place to call in for a pint or several. Well kept beers and a good selection. Would be my "local" if I lived anywhere nearby,

“Great Pub”
Reviewed February 17, 2014 via mobile

Conveniently located for both buses and trains at Carnforth Railway Station, The Snug Micropub is a top pub with a friendly, welcoming Landlord, and friendly punters. Oh and to top that, there are some great ales on tap and bottles available.

“Superb Pub...”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Great pub, captures the essence of the old-fashioned real ale establishment without descending into ye Olde England silliness or daft parody. Fantastic ale served by staff who have a minute to chat to anyone (cannot comprehend reviews that suggest otherwise). The real highlights of this place are what it does NOT have, namely Sky Sports, Karaoke, Fruit Machines and watered-down gnat's piss passing itself off as 'continental lager' - an absolute gem.

“Cosy free house”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Cosy free house with good selection of hand-pumped real ales from casks on view in display case. Friendly staff. Good selection of memorabilia around the room. Well supported by local Camera Branch members.

“Possibly the best watering hole in the North?”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

Pints & Pendolinos! The thrill of an express thundering past a perfect pint has always added value to any afternoon or evening. British ales on British Rails have never tasted better. A pretty well stocked library of books on the right never gets a look in as the banter at the bar radiates to everyone in the place. Heads turn every five minutes as a West Coast Main Line passenger service disrupts the conversation and shakes the foundations. "Did anyone get the number of the locomotive?"

"No!"

"Same again please."

Pubs don't get better than this. Make it a regular hike; check the opening times and come by train for the full experience.
