Having visited the retaurant some time ago, & the food not being too good (ie) spot the meat amongst the onion & tomato, we decided to give it another try. This time we never even got to order our food as the staff were arrogant & rude so we decided to go to a restraunt where the staff appreciate you. NEVER again will we venture to the Far Pavillion despite it being the most local to us. I hope the only other four people in there enjoyed there meal despite it being an empty place on a Saturday night.

Despite living close to this restaurant or many years we have only visited it a handful of time and each time have been extremly dissappointed ,I believe the restaurant has changed staff and manager not to recentley so despite warning from friends about poor food and service we saw a deal advertised in deal monster fo ran Indian feast worth £50 for just £25 ,we ere greatd nicely on our arrival but this soon changd when the manager realised e had ome on the mea deal ,he ws stroppy and quite clearly did not want this type of custom even though the restaurant was empty ( not a good sign for 9pm on a saturday night ), because their were 4 in our party he decided the best offer he could give us ws £25 off the meal at the end! some deal when the voucher cost £25 !! we eventually left when his surly attitude and that of one of his waiters became to much! I will not be returning to "The Far Pavillion" ad subsiquent enquires have led me to believe that neither will alot of the customers who have recentley visited due to the poor food and bad service! PLEASE STAY AWAY!

The Far Pavillion, as already hinted by other reveiwers, is a bit of a throw-back to another era of Indian cuisine. The building is laughably style free (my favourite was the hollow plastic classical columns on each side of the front door) and lacking any real character. That said, the food was perfectly acceptable, not too over-facing and reasonably cooked; the service was perhaps a little over attentive - never keen on being asked more than once whether my meal is OK (if they are worried they should sort it out in the kitchen!) - but effient and relatively quick (unlike other reviewers we were served pretty promptly with our courses). The overall experience was fine for a meal out among friends/colleagues, but equally this is not really anywhere near what one can nowadays expect from the best Indian restaurants. Might be fun to see how we used ot eat an Indian twenty years ago, or if you are passing certainly perfectly fine for an impromtu stop and meal. More than that; might be an idea to try the Sultan in Lancaster, which is altogether a different class of establishment.

Bad Indian - terrible decor - falling apart building. Used to be good back in the 80s - not so good these days. Twigs in the rice - it's not right
