We've been coming here occasionally for lunch on a sunday for years and the food has always been no less than excellent. It's a family run business, based next to a farm and most of the food is locally sourced. The staff are friendly and efficient, and always make you feel welcome. This is definitely one of the best places for lunch in the north west, and definitely worth a visit !

The weekend of our two-night stay my family stayed in their caravans on the small quiet camping field on site. On arrival without even seeing our room yet it was clear that we had a pleasant weekend ahead. When shown to our room we were really impressed by the size if the spotless bathroom, big bed and authentic farm feel to the room. We stayed in a room at the back of the family owners house that had been converted into a public room as part of their b&b, just a minutes walk to my families caravan. As well as the gorgeous room we were made to feel very welcome despite being a younger couple in a b&b filled with clientele of a maturer age. On our first morning we were looking forward to our breakfast and we were not disappointed!!! The full english was definitely the best we've had, there was also lots of cereals and yogurts on offer too. Overall a fantastic stay!!

We stayed for one night only.
On arrival we were shown to a very nice sized room with excellent furniture and fittings, however the room was freezing and with only one small radiator it took a long time for the room to reach an adequate temperature. We were still chilly after being in the room for 2+ hours before we went out!
This was a double room but the only furniture to sit on was a dressing table stool, if we had been staying in it would not have been a comfortable evening. There is no lounge so you have to stay in your room.
There is a good selection of tea./ coffee refreshment in the room.
I understand that there is WIFI access, but you will need a password, best to obtain this whilst the shop/cafe is still open.
Breakfast was freshly cooked, and set us up for the day.
This is very much a rural location, the farm is at the end of a lane and the nearest place for an evening meal is a pub down the road.
At £40 per person we though that it was a little on the expensive side.

Excellent accomodation, comfortable bed, friendly people, tasty breakfast, brilliant atmosphere, good shower, quiet. Stayed on the way to visite rellies in Southport and was very impressed with place. The breakfast was lovely and the whole experience of staying there was memorable. We will certainly go again. The floor boards were a bit squeaky but that is the only thing I can think of that was slightly annoying but generally thumbs up.

Room Tip: They have only three rooms but ours was the one with the double bed and highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night prior to attending a course in Liverpool. We received a warm welcome and our room, although small, was clean and well equipped with a very comfortable bed. The floor boards were a bit squeaky but as there was no one beneath us it didn't really matter. Breakfast was great with a varied menu in addition to the traditional English breakfast. It was a shame we didn't have time to linger over breakfast but we enjoyed the 'takeaway' nectarines. Our stay made a welcome change to corporate hotels and we would definitely return if in the area.

MAY WE CONGRATULATE CATHY AND THE FAMILY FOR HAVING THE BRILLIANT IDEA OF THE B & B & CAFE
We stayed 2 nights at The Farm and found the accomodation excellent. Very large beds (big bonus nowadays), large room and excellent bathroom. The breakfast was very tasty, especially the poached duck eggs straight from the coupe! We also had lunch one day and the cafe seemed very popular with the locals which is always a good sign.
Being off the main road it was lovely and peaceful, only the sound of birds.
.
The only down side is something that someone else has also commented on-that was the squeaky floor boards. We know it was a barn but the floorboards need looking at. Also could do with a stool or chair in the bathroom to put clothes on while having shower.
We will definately come back as the proximity to Martin Mere is great and your food in the farm shop is well worth the visit on its own.

Room Tip: We believe all the rooms are similar. We were the 1st room at the top of stairs and the beams were q...

I found this bed and breakfast on the internet and was not disappointed. Lovely room and facilities. A good breakfast and will definately book again if we visit that part of the country. Shame we only had time to spend 1 night!
