“A lovely stay”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

I found this bed and breakfast on the internet and was not disappointed. Lovely room and facilities. A good breakfast and will definately book again if we visit that part of the country. Shame we only had time to spend 1 night!

Lovely (3 rooms) farm B&B, well furnished just what we needed for an overnight stop. Amazing breakfast, great coffee. Room small but it didn't matter as we we just slept there! Bathroom and shower, again on the small side but did the job. Very clean, heated and all in all just what we wanted. Out of the way and very close to Martin Mere if you are bird watchers. Southport close by about 10 mins. Very friendly. Thank you.

This B&B is amazing! This place is a genuine owner operated family business and working farm. I think this makes all the difference with personal touches, we were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay. The location is slightly isolated but this adds to the tranquillity and was perfect for us as we wanted to 'get away from it all', however, I would suggest that your own vehicle or bike is essential.

We stayed in a beautiful bedroom in the main farmhouse. It was full of so much character and has its own private access. The furniture was lovely solid oak to match the exposed wood cathedral ceilings, and the bed was the most comfortable I have used in a long time.

We particularly loved the breakfasts and lunches served in the teashop. The family use their own produce in all the cooking, they even grow a special type of potato to make the most amazing chips. All the staff were friendly and genuine and we can't wait to visit again!!

We visited Burscough, the local village on a number of occasions, and once on foot down the canal path. I would recommend a number of establishments for meals and drinks; The Hopvine is a great local pub, The Mallard a nice restaurant on the canal, and a walk away is the Ship Inn, also on the canal. There is also a good sized Tesco in the village which is convenient.

The farm is a family run hotel and campsite with great staff and in a lovely location. It's off the beaten track but easy to find with a sat nav or phone maps. A couple of llocal pubs very near if u arrive late and need a meal. The farm does amazing breakfasts and food until a certain time. All produced locally. Rooms are extremely clean and beds are very comfortable. The location is in the countryside and very quiet but very beautiful. Only thing that could be improved on are floors are a bit squeaky and walls thin so u can hear persons from other rooms, even though they were only talking at a reasonable level. Despite that don't be put off. It's a lovely find and we will definately be going back for a stay soon.

We cannot speak highly enough of the splendid welcome and accomodation we had at The Farm Burscough.
An extremely comfortable bed, bathroom roomy and light and everything was spotless, friendly owners and staff, excellent home cooked breakfast and all in a delightful countryside area. What more can one want fom a B&B!

Our welcome was warm and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was a kingsize affair with two very comfortable single mattresses.

The bathroom didn't have a bath but the shower was good.

The choice at breakfast was very good, the service and food was excellent. The family who run the farm were very friendly.

We'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed at The Farm whilst walking the Leeds Liverpool Canal recently. What an absolutely delightful place. Only open for B&B for about two years and we think only about three rooms but there was little if anything to compaln about.
The owner/proprietor was charming the room was great in a converted barn and we had a great nights sleep and a fabulous home cooked full breakfast the next morning.
There is no evening meal provision however we we recommended two pubs each 20 mins walk away. We went to the Farmers Arms which was excellent value and good location right on the canal.
Brilliant all round. The Farm is a member of 'Farmstay' which is worth a look for similar accommodation.
