A modern hotel, very reasonably priced with excellent service. Stayed for two nights and was very impressed with this hotel and will definitely stay there again. The staff have very modern outfits which fit in exactly with the fresh, vibrant, relaxed atmosphere the hotel portrays. I could not fault the breakfast - yes we did have to wait a couple of minutes for a table on the Sunday but it was insignificant. The food quality was very high and hot. The bar area could be a little noisy but not heard from outside of the bar area. A popular place for weddings so you might find yourself sitting amongst the guests. Plenty of parking outside. The only criticism and this is a minor point was that the room is a little dark but has plenty of lights (had a little trouble switching them all off and ended up pulling out the room card). In conclusion - an excellent hotel for the price.

I've stayed at the Village Ashton a few tomes this year, most recently in May. It's bright modern and clean with an imposing facade and big car park. Service is always good and all rooms benefit from a free, but middling quality, buffet breakfast. The hotel is a generic Village type with a mini Starbucks and large quality leisure centre attached, free to guests, this does attract lots of people and cars at peak times after work. The bar can get quite lively, especially when there's a match on. Food is not it's strong point since the restaurant was changed from an upmarket Bistro to a low end Italian. Bizarrely the Italian was fantastic, and packed, when it opened but the chef and recipes have since changed. There's an entertainment complex 5 minuites walk away with lots of better restaurants. Standard rooms are small and a bit of a struggle for a week, but fine for a night. Family rooms are bigger, just one bed so an odd name, and for the money better value. The premium rooms "Upper Class" are exactly the same as family rooms but with biscuits, water and Sky TV. These are poor value and the "Starbucks" instant coffee is quite nasty, they should do an American style coffee maker instead.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a family room if you get the chance, these are better value than Upper Class ones. This c...

I stop at this hotel almost on a weekly basis for work, the rooms although dark are clean and comfy... however, its the service which really makes this place stand out!

Right from reception checking in through to restaurant staff are outstanding... I felt like ordering something which I found out when calling room service was not on the hotel menu, however, Adele went over and beyond, managed to get the food item from somewhere else and rang me back to say it had been sourced and if I would still like it. This is world class customer service for you when the frontline staff go over and beyond to deliver!

A*!

Booked this last minute as we didn't want to endure a late night car ride over the m62 after seeing Robbie Williams at the Etihad Stadium.
The reception area was pleasant enough, and although we didn't eat there, there appeared to be a good choice in the bar area, and there was also an Italian eatery. We went over the road to Frankie & Benny's and there were other eateries over there too.
Transport to manchester not great, but we had decided to get a taxi anyhow (was still cheaper than staying city centre). Was 15-20 mins by taxi and cost around £10.
We stayed on the 'Upper Deck' and the bed and room comfortable. Had asked if we could possibly have a twin room, but as we were late booking there was no availability. No wardrobe in the room, only hanging space, so it's ok just for 1-2 nights. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Friend used the shower and she said it was great.
Breakfast - plenty of choice, but was a bit on the cool side, especially the tea. We asked for another pot, explaining the first was cold, and was brought a piping hot pot of tea back, so can't complain.
Agree with earlier reviewer about transport links, think once the trams are up and running, and if they had a bus stop right next to hotel, it would be much better. Receptionist didn't have much of a clue about where to get bus/tram/train, but just said we could call for a taxi from phone provided on reception.

Room Tip: We stayed on upper deck, overlooked the road, but road noise was ok, didn't disturb our sleep...

Booked a one night stay as we were attending the Etihad Stadium for a Robbie Williams Concert.
There is plenty of parking, a nice reception area and friendly staff (though their advice regarding public transport is a bit suspect). When we arrived there was a wedding on & it was noisy & bustling.
The hotel should soon have access to the Metrolink transport system giving better access to the city but for now the bus station is a 15 minute walk away.
The rooms are stylishly decorated, clean, roomy and comfortable
The pub is good, very inviting and well staffed by friendly people.
Had a great night sleep.
Did not use the leisure facilities.
The breakfast was buffet style & had a good selection & was good quality.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and would go back again particularly when the transport links improve.

Room Tip: Ask a local for public transport advice & not reception!

Booked for a tribute night which included a meal , band and disco , breakfast and use of the pool/Gym.
Easy to find just off the M60 and about 10- 15 min drive to Manchester City Centre, Free parking.
Helpful staff on reception with a modern feel all round . Had a standard room which was fine, clean and decent size . Does need a fan in the bathroom as is gets steamy !!
Used the pool , steam room and bubble bath all fine with decent showers and changing rooms.
Nice bar for pre event drinks, tribute band average - it was much more fun watching the 5 Hen nights present, the party meal was a bit poor. Breakfast was ok - no problems getting a table on a Sunday morning. Would go back here to stay if back in Manchester no problem

Stayed here whilst at the Bon Jovi concert. Great facilities, great food, great beer. Small but comfortable rooms. Paid £129 for the night bed and breakfast. Dinner was 3 courses and a bottle of wine for £29 for two = incredible value.
