I visit here on a regular basis as it is the best food and value for miles. Set in lovely surroundings, overlooking the lake( at its best in the summer months) The function rooms are ideal for weddings and nights out. The rooms are excellent, well equipped. We have even had 2 funeral meals here with excellent service. Perfect all round.

Room Tip: all rooms are excellent but if you get one overlooking the lake is an added bonus

Room just about ok but very dated, reception was and smelt like the shop floor of the benson and hedges factory!

Drunken families in the garden swearing not nice for the kids.

Paid cash on arrival, and when asked for a receipt the women very rudely told me they do not give them until you check out! its because its the only way they get there keys back! rubbish its law, get a deposit for the keys then,( so beware IF YOU PAY CASH MAKE SURE THE RECEIPT IS NOTED FOR CASH)

No Have a nice stay or did you have a nice stay!!!! just ignorance ..

Arrived back at midnight from the party we were at, to be grabbed by more drunken louts from the in house do.

Not A NICE PLACE

As an ex Canvey Islander of over fourty years and this establishment was not even built when I left. My partner and I was very satified by our experience. A huge breakfast finished off our one night stay.

Room Tip: A huge airy room with all the usual facilities.

This is not the Ritz, but the rooms are clean and airy and the beds are very good. The price is terrific. The attached restaurant is also a great value and it gets larger every time we visit. If the weather is right, dining outside is a treat, but whether inside or out you will not be disappointed with the quality and selection of meals in the main dining room. The pub menu is traditional British, but it is varied and again the items are of good quality and quite tasty. While not Napa Valley or Bordeaux, the wine selection is good and the beers are many. The hotel hosts quite a few weddings and social events, so reservations for a weekend stay are advised. We have stayed here several times over the last few years and have not been disappointed. Would we stay here again? Yes.

We booked this hotel the day prior to our visit and arrived late afternoon. The car park was almost full but we managed to take the last available space.

The reception is just off the main bar and this was very busy with customers who all appeared to having a good time. The lady on reception was very friendly and asked us to pay on arrival for our room and breakfast the following morning.

Our room, number 30, was just across the yard and along a passageway. The room was not one of the best we have stayed in but for £53 for the room for two people it was very reasonable. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and they supplied tea and coffee facitities.

Our main complaints were:

1) The windows faced on to another building so it was very dark with no outlook.

2) We like to sleep with the windows open but there was no facility to lock the windows to prevent access from outside.

3) The door handle on the door was broken

4) The TV only had the five terrestrial channels - no Sky or Freeview

5) The chair in the room was a bit tatty

6) Bath towels were rather small

7) No tissues

8) Shower curtain was very flimsy with the result that when you used the shower the force of the shower caused the curtain to stick to your wet skin - not very comfortable.

9) Our room was adjacent to the door that gave access to the next floor. Unfortunately every time someone used the door it banged close and vibrated through to our room. At 2.00am this is no fun!

On the plus side the drinks in the bar are very reasonably priced and overall we felt that the hotel offered good value for money. If we neede to go to Canvey again we would certainly consider using the Oysterfleet.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room they offer before accepting i.

We went to a wedding reception in the functions room at this hotel and stayed the night.. The room was surprising large, although the double bed was just a double. Being used to a king size bed it took me some gettinmg jused to although my wife slept ;like a log until I woke her at 9am.
The room was clean, bath with shower and a hand basin. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful (not that we needed much help) and the bar prices were on the cheaper pub side. Dining room was airy and modern. There was an outside area with a large patio and a large decking area both overlooking a large lake with swans, ducks and of course the sea gulls.
The finger buffet for the reception was ample enough for those of us who hadn't eaten since lunch with enough variety for everyones pallet. The breakfast was excelent with everything you would expect from a modest pub/hotel. Breakfast was freshly cooked and served plated to individuals and was so much better than helping yourself to the buffet breakfast with fried eggs nearly drowning in fat and hard bacon and sausages. The only disappointment was no black pudding.
If asked to give a rating it would probable be a good 2Star. Much more than we expected for £55 a nigh B & B for a couple.

Room Tip: Bridle suite - you can always be on your anniversy
