“Sad state of affairs”

Canvey Island Seafront
Reviewed December 29, 2012

Such a shame money is not spent on one of the best assets Canvey has, the wonderful seafront! Dirty, smelly (smells of dog mess) run down, gets worse every time I visit. The only amusing thing about the amusements is that hardly any of the machines work and are never repaired, so there are less machines to play on each time we go.

The pubs are dirty, in need of a good refurbishment and not very inviting.

The car park which you now have to pay for is just a mess of pot holes full of water, even the pavements are broken and in disrepair.

This place could be a gold mine but alas like most of the area money goes elsewhere....

20 years ago it was a great place for a day out but now it's all rather tired apart from the area by the Concord Cafe where the friends of Concord Beach have put lots of new seats and the pool has been re-vamped if the food in the cafe was given a make-over it would be very good. Sadly the rest of the seafront is bad, weeds and grass growing in the path by the beach, dog poo on the path, graffiti, scruffy ammusements, not very appealing.

I am a sucker for the sea, so enjoy beach walks. This area could be much improved and bring more tourism to the area. Rides are very tired, but there has been some good work done at concorde beach front - well done.

Small but not bad for a day out... Could do with a bit of money spent on it when i last went but not sure if it has had any renovations done lately as i havent been there for a couple of years... Fish and chips and panny machines are just as times long gone

Went back to Leisure Island today. What a great day. My 3 children cost me only £15.00 for all of them all day. £1.00 for chips 50p for bottles of water. What a gem that only now is getting to be known about. Parking only £2.10 all day and room for everyone. They have details of the new rides and attractions that are being installed for next year. If you have children under 9, they say under 11 but really its for under 9s its a must.

Thank you for these kind words. It is our intention to give families value for money. With our wristbands being priced at £5.00 each and staying at that price for the 2013 season we believe we achieve this. Every year we improve the park facilities, giving families and guests added value.
Thanks again Scott Petty. (General Manager)
