“A 'must visit' exerience”

We went again in mid-October. Good Farm Shop. Cafe excellent and superb range of gifts in the Gift Shop. The best time to visit is obviously in the Spring / Summer but it is delightful all year round.

Interesting stop for lunch. Good deli type shop for nice food and souvenir shop with good quality items.
Good historic interest about the lavender fields.

“relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

although the Lavender was out of season it was still nice walking around the gardens and the gift shop. Its free to browse and so nice. Not sure if I would go again but I really enjoyed my cream tea in the Café and also the lavender aromatherapy oil I purchased.

“Good way to spend a couple of hours”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

We enjoyed our first visit, interesting mix of retail, amused by the size of the lavender "field" although glad to see attempt at preserving less well known varietals. Garden centre nicely focussed on lavender varieties with other plants also available at reasonable prices.Visitors should try some of the more unusual lavender flavoured culinary offerings in the restaurant - a real revelation.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

We went yesterday to Norfolk Lavender after a gap of a few years and were a little disappointed in the changes. The gift shop has been overtaken by the run-of-the-mill gifts that can be found anywhere and not nearly as many Norfolk Lavender products on sale as previously. The outside garden shop was also full of the same sort of things - no-one around to answer any questions about the lavender and herb plants. As previous reviewers have stated, the restaurant is a little confusing... never been anywhere else that operates the system of finding yourself a table (and the crucial table number!) before you actually order anything. I can see that in busy times it could be difficult for staff to track down the people waiting for the food, but the current system is confusing and long-winded. I agree with the person who noticed the artificial lavender on the tables - surely there could have been some real lavender in a place that actually grows the plants? Having said all that about the restaurant, the food was actually very good!
We didn't go to the farm area so can't comment on that, but all in all it was a pleasant day out but we were just disappointed that the place has lost its unique charm.
