“A lovely boutique hotel”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

In a congested part of town, but they have a garage with an entrance around the back. I think of that first because the garage gave us a preview of what we were to experience. The garage was so clean you could have eaten your breakfast off it !

The whole experience was, perhaps, superior to any I have experienced (and I have have stayed at Four Seasons, Ritz Carltons and the like -- on someone else's nickel!). The room was lovely and spacious, the bathroom spectacular, the staff attentive, the breakfast room was beautiful and the buffet very fine. All this at $150 for the night. Surely there must be some flaw --- oh! I found it, the breakfast kiwi wasn't very ripe (quelle horror!).

I cannot speak more highly of this fantastic small hotel. The room and bathroom was spacious and immaculate. The front desl was friendly, quick and receptive. The bar staff was warm and able to give us food which was decent but not spectacular. Galician food is okay but not my favorite to be frank unless an abuela is in the kitchen.
We were not given any room with a view which would have been nice and I agree with others that the parking is hairy and tight to get in and out of.
The decor of the hotel seemed very on trend and fresh and the wifi is free!

A topnotch hotel: rooms are spacious, quiet, very clean and well decorated. Friendly and efficient staff. Central location, 5 minutes walk from/to downtown. Drive-through width into/out the garage is narrow, but that's not a problem.

Summary: excellent hotel, excellent price/quality relationship. If you get a good deal, I did, this far better than local hostales y pensiones. The difference paid out. Absolutely.

(Nerdy detail, pay attention to the iMac's screen on the reception. The keyboard is a clue.)

Stayed here for one night and was very impressed by the standard and cleanliness of the room, friendliness of the staff and the overall location. We had one of the rooms on the fifth floor and this came with an outside seating area that overlooked part of the city, the view was great. I noticed that a lot of other reviewers had mentioned parking was in short supply in the city so opted to send the 10 euros and park under the hotel, this turned out to be money well spent since getting any parking in the city is difficult at best, the underground parking is tight though so if you have a large car it will be awkward. The hotel seemed to have everything you would need the complementary wifi worked well and the rooms had the most quiet air conditioning I have ever encountered. The old town is about 5 minutes walk and if you want to go to one of the free spa's along the river its about a 20 minute walk from the hotel. All in all a great place to stay if you are visiting Ourense.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with an out door seating area I think these are on the 4th and 5th floors.

Central location. Parking underneath the hotel, very tight and not recommended for a large car. Rooms are a good size, staff friendly, and the major benefit is its in Ourense, which is a great small city in Galicia, with wonderful people and in one of he finest parts of Spain.

We stayed here for two nights as part of our trip round Galicia. The hotel is well-situated and we decided to walk from the train station, which took us about 20/25 minutes wheeling luggage. We could have caught a bus, but it seemed easier to walk to get out bearings.

There was a very warm welcome when we arrived and although we arrived very early, we were able to check in to our room. The room itself was very big, with a huge bathroom, big bed and a small balcony facing on to the street. There was no noise problems, as it seemed a quiet street and there was good double glazing.

The hotel has a good little cafe, which we did use in the evening for a drink. There is a good selection of wines, and the barman was very friendly, as were all the other staff we met. The wifi worked fine for us, but we did have problems with being logged out after a brief period of inactivity.

There are plenty of restaurants and tapas bars nearby and there's a Froiz supermarket nearby in Avenida de Habana. It's a easy walk into the old town and everything is close by.

This is a good hotel and part of a very good chain (we stayed in their hotel in Santiago de Compostela too). We were very glad that we'd chosen to stay here.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the front street

The personnel is very supportive, also at the restaurant. The room was large and clean. Restaurant quite good and cheap, two things you do not expect at hotels. Private car parking, with fee but it's money well spent... parking is very difficult near the historical center!
Strongly recommended.
