“Birdwatching visit to Delta de L'Ebre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

Birdwatching holiday. Early breakfasts were facilitated by allocation of a studio room with kitchen/fridge at no extra cost.
Had one cooked breakfast @ normal time & it was brilliant.Good food, plenty of it & well cooked.
Very friendly & extremely helpful.
Would definitely stay @ Hostal Agusti if visiting the area again.

Room Tip: 3 people,3 rooms, all fine particularly the studio/kitchen room.

Tried the hostal Augusti after looking at several others, this is by far the best in the area, very central to port and square. Well kept and nice facilities. Has to be one of the best value places so far after 7 days working way down coast of Spain, the lady that greated us was really friendly despite my poor attempt at Spanish.

We have again had the pleasure of staying at the Hostal Agusti where we were recognised and welcomed by the proprietor Nuria, who speaks fluent English and French in addition to her natural Catalan and Castilian Spanish. It is possible to have either a room (with ensuite bathroom) or studio with kitchen, which enables a very economical self-catering holiday, especially as there is a well stocked supermarket just around the corner and many other shops nearby. Sumptuous breakfasts are available at the Hostal in season.

The Hostal is well situated to enjoy the facilities of the town, and for exploring the Ebro Delta and the mountains of Montsia and Els Ports - offering good walking, birdwatching and cycling opportunities

The hostal is also convenient for access to the yacht marina and there are several safe family beaches within easy reach.

Altogether a pleasant, comfortable and good value hotel that I would definitely recommend.

I have spent a week every summer for the last 10 years at Hostal Agusti and have found the standard of accommodation and service excellent. It is a family run hostal where you are made to feel really welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast is excellent value. Hostal Agusti is also well situated for the town centre and also the beach.

This is a budget B&B but do not let that put you off at all. Downside, needs a little modernising in the decor; upsides - too many to list. Breakfasts are good with hot option, owner makes you very welcome and makes a point of speaking personally to you at breakfast each day to ensure satisfaction.A very genuine establishment that makes you feel that you are wanted there and very welcome if you know what I mean. Also it is very clean (do not confuse "in need of modernisation" with grubby as this place has exceptional hygiene standards. The location is very handy for the marina and a great price; it is very quiet (school is opposite though so if you are a grump that hates kids you get a bit of "child noise" that at about 8.45am until they go in at 9.00am in weekdays if you are at the back of the hotel. This is NOT an international 5* hotel and does not try to be (use the Miami if you want that kind of Hotel) but delivers exactly what it should do for a quality B&B and more.

Room Tip: At this price All the rooms would be good value

Thank you for your review. We are constantly in the process of modernizing the hostel which not only involves decoration but also improving the facilities that we offer, such as flat screen tvs and in-room coffee and tea making facilties. Furthermore, we also try to make all the rooms different so that guests never have the impression that they are staying in a chain hotel. Naturally, this is an on-going process and it is not unusual for guests to express their preference for the decor in one room over another. We are pleased that you enjoyed the breakfasts and appreciated the hostel's central location in the town. We hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.

A previous correspondent has extolled the virtues of this Hotel.

We choose it as it was near to the Marina where we had a connection and in the town.

We had a Studio, over looking the rear, which was a surprise. We did no more than morning tea but there were good facilities for a full scale meal in the kitchenette area.

Nuria, the owner, was a delight and nothing was too much trouble for her with informations and suggestions. The breakfast table was loaded with every delight and for every palate. Having stayed at the expensive places this was homely and good value.

100% for everything would recommend to anyone .... and have to the folks on the Marina.

Room Tip: Speaks excellent English

We had booked a double and a single room and were offered a studio with kitchen, two rooms and two bathrooms for the same price. We loved "our" studio and were happy to return "home" after a long day out in the Delta. The breakfast was fabulous. I especially loved the potatoe omelette, the grilled tomato with bacon, and the huge chocolate croissant (HUGE!) There were hard boiled eggs, little sausages, cheese, salami, fruits (honeydew melon with ham), cookies, cakes, juice and many more things to choose from. The first day we were even invited to breakfast. The hotel owner is a lovely and very helpful person. She suggested boat trips and recommended restaurants (don't miss the Can Vicent in Sant Carles de la Ràpita, the paella is outstanding). I already look forward to returning to the Hostal Agusti.
