“We'll be back!”

Went here on 23rd September for 1 week, found the hotel to be very clean and all the staff spoke very good english, which always helps. Room tip: ask for a room at the front. For was simple but good most nights which for a buffet style it is acceptable. Lovely pool facilities. Bike hire, tennis racket hire not included in all-inclusive :(
The entertainment staff were brilliant, one day we had a monsoon so the daytime activities were brought indooors...who knew you could fire a crossbow indoors! excellent. The entertainment crew were one of the finest bunch of "village-idiots" assembled, even their more sensible productions at night were entertaining.
As we were all-inclusive, on the day we went a bus tour to barcelona the hotel prepared a lovely picnic for us- nice touch.
The snack bar during the day is good aswell, twice we missed out on lunchtime but when returning to hotel, we had cheese toasties and fries.OMG delicious, never had a cheese toastie as good as it before!

Take a USB with movies on it, as english TV channles are limited. for those odd rainy days.

Only negative point was reception didn't take visa, so I had to go to local ATM and withdraw euros.

Overall a very good hotel and I won a hotel mascot t-shirt for karaoke..brill!

Room Tip: Room at front have better sea-view. Rooms 1001-7001 are away from noisy bar

Our 3rd visit we went in june in the school brake to meat with some familys we met last june. The hotel has been exellant before but the rooms was not cleaned so well and we had to ask for towals a few times. The food not as good in the past it was better. they have got differant entertainment staff and they are too loud and we complained so they turned it up next night we complained to kelly and they turned it up again. We was lucky thompson messed up the booking and didnt book the all inclusive we wanted so after 2 days we didnt bother staying in after dinner and went out to the local places and the drinks was cheeper and better selection than the hotel. All the good comments are most right the kids love the pools and the kids club but we wont bother going back if we cant use the entertainmant cos its too loud. Shame

We arrived 27th September 2012 the weather was a bit iffy.On the Saturday (29th) we had a 24 hour monsoon. But the next day sunshine until we went home on 7th October. The hotel Is In a great position I would say the biggest In Pineda. The hotel was due to close on the 21st of October and not open untill April 2013 so you can see how much the hotel makes If they can shut for (almost) 6 months of the year.Hard beds ? forget It they were perfect.Thin walls you are In Spain get over It ( Although we never heard any noise coming through the walls).Get to Blackpool If you want thick walls. The food was ok we had been In better hotels - the Santa Monica In Callella wipes the floor with them food wise and entertainment wise. The entertainment team was very good with the children but they could not raise their game after 10 o clock with the adults. They put on a show- pop stars- they had poor outfits and mimed to different artists It was embarrassing to watch.I don't know If It was because It was the end of the season but at many of the meals there were very many tables with dirty plates on them. When you had finished your soup you would expect your dish taken away ready for your next course but many times you were sat eating your sweet with your soup dish and your main meal plate all still on the table we ended up setting on a table for 4 so we could put our dishes somewhere.Once or twice we even carried them back to the service station ourselves !!

I'm still at the hotel as I write this review. This hotel mostly receives great reviews and everyone has their own experiences on holiday, but please read into this carefully.

I agree with some reviewers that the food in the dining area is not great, not the worst we've had but it does need improving.

Secondly the hotel has been extended over the years and whilst there appears to be ample room at either of the pools ( even in peak season ) the dining area and main bar areas would not cope in my opinion based in thier current size.

The kids entertainment has been ok, but as thomsons left here on 1/10 and given the number of children at the hitel left then its difficult to judge. I think it would be a great place for a child in the summer months.

The rooms are a bit dated but the hotel is a number of years old c1960's. very clean though.

Please beware though this hotels location is a bit isolated with very little around it. The issue is compounded by the fact that everything in the hotels vicinity is now closed for the season. No pubs of note, and no supermarket.

One great touch on arrival at 1030pm is the reception directed us to the snack bar for a free meal. We could choose from the menu and we felt this was a nice touch. In fact all the staff have been great.

Overall this hotel is good / great but here is the beef with my stay.

On the first weekend we were influxed by Spanish locals staying for the weekend. This wasn't so bad but they were a bit rude and hogged all the tables in the main bar area for evening entertainment. Then proceeded to go in turns into the dining area for dinner. Again fair enough - but they sat there all night and hardly any of them bought a drink all night. Maybe the recession is worse than we thought. The entertainment a Spanish drag act, and the singer was pitiful.

Once they left I thought we'd return to normal. How wrong could we be.

500 Scandinavian football players u12-u16 turned up. Their behaviour was appalling. Practically unsupervised they ran riot through the hotel for 5 days until we left. I understand commercially the need for the hotel to boost numbers but in my opinion we should have been pre warned about their arrival and given the choice to move to another hotel.

Examples were dress code in dining room - football strip they had played in that day. Smelly sweaty football socks on with no shoes? Tasting the food and placing it back on the serving tray if they disliked it. Barging around the hotel singing and playing ghetto blaster.

I could go on and on. Most if not all the staff were clearly fed up with them too. Such a shame as this has left me tarnished that I would not come back to this hotel.

So beware do not visit this hotel outside of peak season or face the roulette wheel of who us going to be holidaying with you.

Come here with a reputable travel firm in season with children and I'm sure you'll have a good time. If your happy that your semi isolated - train not too far away - and the evening entertainment in the peak season is better than the Spanish drag queen, a music quiz, an African show, a magic show.

Personally we've stayed at the aqua hotel aquamarina on 2 previous occasions in Santa susana and all round this is a far better hotel.

I stayed in this hotel nealrly 30 years ago and wanted to see it again and I wasnt diapointed. When we arrived it was pouring down but the staff were there with jumbo sized umbrellas to shelter us while we got our suitcases to the reception. All the staff were really helpful especially Charlotte on reception. (there are a couple of English women working on reception so there was never a worry that your point wouldnt get accross). We had booked 2 adjoining rooms as our party was made up of 2 adults a teenager and 2 children. We were given a room with a double bed and single and the other had 3 singles in. I thought the beds were ok but my partner thought they were a bit hard. The bathroom is a good size with a hairdrier. The only down side to this was there was a glass shower screen on the side of the bath that you had to swing out to get into the bath but if you swung it far enough it would hit the marble sink area. The grout on the bath was a bit black as well but it was the last week of the season so I assume they will tackle this over Winter. It wasnt that bad that I needed to ask for another room though. There are two big free form pools, and although the hotel was supposed to have been full we had no problem getting a row of 5 beds. Pools cold, but they always are. The indoor pool was a bit warmer so I could get into that one, and the jakussi was lovely!! We had no queues to get into the dining room and there was a lot of choice although not much salad choice. Just lettuce and onion and sometimes carrot or cucmber. The rest of the salad bar was made up of bowls of olives and guerkins etc in water(?). Breakfast was best for me, lots of pastries, croissants, fried breakfast with english sausages. There was even an egg boiler for you to boil your own to perfection! There is a snack bar that sells decent hamburgers and hotdogs . And slush puppies for the kids. The service in the bar was great, and all the waiters were really nice. We bought all inclusive when we arrived, 21 euros an adult and 13 for the kids. We saved nearly £300 doing that way instead of through Thomson. That included all branded drinks, snacks at certain times. Recent reviews said you could only get one drink at a time but they didnt have a problem with us ordering a couple so we could take them to the room. I would use the hotel again if it was somewhere else as there isnt much to see if you go for a walk. The beach is shingly and dips quickly so not good for little ones.

Room Tip: rooms above the Habana bar can be noisy

Just returned with my husband from 11night half board holiday at Taurus Park. Enjoyed the hotel very much, entertainment was good, especially the magician that was on during our stay. All the staff were great, especially Kelli the Guest services manager she was extremely helpful and most knowledgeable about areas around and about and train times etc. We went to Barcelona on the train, really easy as Kelli printed off instructions for us, it only costs 8.60euros return and takes approx an hour. Plenty of markets to browse around, although check over what you buy before you leave the market, as I bought a handbag the day before coming home and didn't check it over 'til the evening and found the metal strap link was broken, bad luck for me!!! We found the beds quite hard and therefore not very comfy and rooms for us were basic, compared to other 4star hotels we've stayed at. That said, the hotel itself was lovely, but consider that there isn't anything around about, (bars, shops etc) it's about a 15-20min walk into Pineda centre.

Room Tip: Rooms in the 350's are overlooking pool and sea, fantastic views. Room 351 perfectly situated
