“Excellent as ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

From drinks to tapas to Mexican every trip to El Limonero has been superb, Yes its busier than at other times of the year when we visit but this is great to see and a credit to the hard work those that work there put in both in and out of peak season. Its a tough game to be in but we and many of our friends return time and time again as there really is something for everyone on the menu and I have to agree with a previous reviewer the food that is produced is of a very high standard. Not wasted in ayamonte, very much appreciated

“A surprising disappointment”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

It is always a challenge when experiences vary so much for reviewers. I have mentioned in the review of La Puerta Ancha that I wonder whether us Brits sometimes head to restaurants that have obvious British owners as we can find life challenging when in a very Spanish speaking area-and I am probably guilty of doing this on the night we went to El Limonero. There were some highlights-the black pudding salad being one of them; but all four of us who ate there were disappointed with our meals and I am afraid the service was not good at all so cannot agree with others on this one at all, sorry!

“Wonderful Value for Money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

Have just returned after a two week stay in the area. Dined in this restaurant twice during our stay. On the first occasion took up the option of the Tapas Menu. The choices were unusual and so different to local restaurants. The Black pudding scotch egg was out of this world as were the chilli and garlic prawns. As there were four in our party we tried 7 tapas on the menu and there was more than enough to satisfy. The total bill including 2 rounds of drinks was less than 50 Euro.!!!! (cheap as chips). On the second occasion we went a la carte. We had two courses each but the portions were so generous we could not eat another thing. The Argentinian Sirloin Steaks were the best steaks ever. The total bill including a bottle of shiraz and a pre dinner drinks was just over 100 Euro. At these prices this place is a no brainer.

“The best of the best in the region”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

On arriving at the restaurant you are greeted as though you have been coming here for years, actually for the last three years when on holiday, there are two menus Mexican and A La Carte they were both of the highest standard. My Wife and I had different meals every time we went there and were satisfied every time it is worth a visit if you are in the region (50 km).

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013 via mobile

One place you must visit! The staff are helpful and the food is great! Try Sunday lunch! I've eaten at the best London restaurants Jamie's, Zac bains, Raymond Blanc's, it holds a candle to them all, the chef is wasted in ayamonte!
