This was our secound visit to Antico Borgo San Lorenzo and we will be booking again for 2013. Alessia and Jacopo do everything possible to make your stay comfortable. The appartments are really well equipped and are always clean and tidy. We always go with a large group and use 2 x apartments. Nothing is ever to much bother and they manage cater for the variety of requirements any large group will have. Definitely recommend eating at the restaurant as the food is superb. If you phone in advance you may be able to reserve a steak Florintine!! Unbelievable!!

Me and my friends spent 5 nice days in this hotel. I think it is one of best plays for a man wishing to see Toskana. Hotel has own beg parking and very friendly staff. Thos who loves history - for you there is smal but old chusrch of X century B.C.
Also nice swimming pool and very comfort appartments. We lived in appartmens Fico - near big fig tree, so for breakfast there were no problems with fresh fruits :-)))
When I drove a car at the distance of 20 meters from the enter to the hotel I saw two roe deers and a fox! Also many lizards live in the grass and there is big home cat! :-)
LOCATION IS ALSO VERY CONVENIENT - IF YOU HAVE A CAR, OF COURSE. tO sAN gIMINIANo IT TOOK ABOUT 20-30 minutes only.
In the hotel also is a restaurant - food is very tasty, especially teramisu! So, for people who like to see real Toskana and visit all small towns and villages Antico Borgo is a really good choice!

Perfect location to discover Tuscany but for relaxation , good food and big, clean pool as well. Easy to find but follow the sign: casa bandini! Smell of rosemary and lavender is great!

Quiet, private apartments and rooms. Nice pool and scenery. In countryside but only 10 min or less by car to colle val d'elsa for town and shopping. Great central location- only 20-30 min from siena, close enough to everything else. The road to and from pisa is bas$s! Its through the hills and has twists and turns like crazy. Be ready to move over almost in the grass for big lorries (semi's) as its pretty narrow considering your speed and the traffic. This area is great for back road amature rally practice; just be sure to get full coverage on the rental!

Back to the purpose of this review; its nice to hear roosters in the morning (not too loud don't worry) and go for a nice run. You really are in the best location.

This place was the best place for our 13 member family reunion. We had 7 adults and 6 kids with various ages from 6 months to 12 years old. We stayed at the largest apartment with Rosa Bianca and Girasole.

Rosa Bianca was the perfect place for a large group such as ours. The bedrooms where spacious and the bathroom were very large and comfortable. Jacopo was very helpful at check-in and even lend me a hiking/ biking map for my morning runs.

There is no air condition in Rosa Bianca And we were plagued by Mosquitos. We did not figure out there is a bug screen on the windows until we left. :( At night it can get hot.

The kitchen was complete and the matriarch of the family was happy with the facilities to cook for the family. There is a large grocery store in Poggibonsi which supplied our dinners and lunch.

We did have a fabulous dinner downstairs and it was very delicious! It is a bit on the steep side but in return you get a home cooked Tuscan meal under the Tuscan stars. Who can beat that?

Breakfast was freshly baked cornetti. Yummy!

The pool was a hit for the kids. Parents be aware that the entire pool is about 4-5 feet deep so we brought a kiddie pool and floatation devices for the small kids.

One of the staff members showed us a 13th century chapel right behind our apartment with fresco and all. What a treat!!!

For you runners out there, there are great running trails. Be prepared for some hill training but you will be rewarded with beautiful views and sites.

All in all, the place made our long awaited family reunion successful. Jacopo and the staff was super kind and helpful. Highly recommended for anyone with small children and want to experience a piece of the Tuscan life.

Room Tip: There is no air condition in Rosa Bianca, so be prepared to sleep with open windows.

My wife and I traveled to Italy this last May (2011) and our travel agent found this gem of a place. The location is perfect if you plan to travel to locations in Tuscany like Siena, Volterra, Radda and many of the small villages and towns that make up Tuscany. The place feels like a true Tuscan villa and the room we had was well appointed and comfortable. There was a good size bedroom, a small but very functional bathroom and a small kitchen that allowed us to keep our wine cool and make a few pasta dishes. The restaurant was excellent and we went for the option of having our breakfasts there every morning. The food was very fresh and coffee, excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant a few nights and it was excellent. The wine selection was also very good. One evening we had a private cooking class with Jacopo and Alessia. That was a great experience and they shared their recipe with us. we have tried a few and they worked well, although I think Jacopo and Alessia might have added something special to make it really good.
I am a bit of a communication person so I am always looking for internet access. There is internet, but it is slow and you need to be close to the office to get access. Other than that, the stay was fantastic and a highlight of our trip to Italy.
