Really enjoyed our week-long stay at Piccolo Hotel in Pienza. The hotel is well located, just across from the small historic center of Pienza. Pienza itself is a charming little town, and while small, I found it to be perhaps my favorite hill town in Tuscany.
Back to the hotel itself - it's a modern building and is well kept and very clean. Marco, who I assume is the manager, was incredibly nice and helpful, as were other memebers of the staff.
The room was reasonably sized and featured amazing views of the Val d'Orcia. The bathroom was large, the shower had doors (hallelujah!) and excellent water pressure. The bed was not the most comfortable, as it was a bit firm for my liking and the pillows were of the thin and flat variety. The TV could also use a few more channels - if you are an English speaker, CNN International is the only option, and the WiFi service pretty weak once you leave the lobby.
Our room was fairly quiet, though at night the lobby occasionally gets a bit loud when a few of the locals came to the small bar for wine or espresso. It wasn't really an issue for us, being on the first floor, but those staying directly above the lobby must have noticed.
Each morning we enjoyed a great breakfast spread as well as fresh coffee of our choosing. This breakfast was really one of the best parts of our stay - it was delicious and probably would have run 20+ euros a person to get an equivalent breakfast elsewhere.
All told, it's a great little hotel and I'd definitely stay there again.
