We were staying to a very closed Agriturismo from this rest. So, after their suggestion we decided to try it! What a great decision! I was lucky to be able to try a fantastic Zucca soap! And as a pasta dish the best amatriciana with pasta ever! The entire combination was fantastic! The pasta with the great cook touch! I should have gone back there before I left! But it was too late! I don't agree at all with some comments a bout this restaurant! Do not miss it!! They are great!! Go for it!!!

We lunched at this country restaurant before touring the gardens at La Foce. The setting is stunning overlooking 'the most photographed road in Tuscany'; literal minutes from the Origo's garden estate. Food was fine with good, albeit somewhat llimited and ordinary choices -- but consistent with the 'working persons' venue which houses this recently renovated inn. Wine list was acceptable. As the gardens are open to the public only Wednesday afternoons, the restaurant had not planned for the glut of patrons that would fill their facility on this particular day, staffing, I expect for the 'average day' vs. the 'high traffic day'. So it was slow and uneven. Allow a bit of extra time if you're aiming for one of the hourly tours.

Dopolavorio at La Foce is well worth a detour and if you can include a visit to the gardens at La Foce you will have a wonderful day.

We used the Dopolavoro often during our stay in the Val d'Orcia; for dinner, breakfast and drinks with delicious snacks. The extensive garden made it a good solution for big family meals (seven children at one point) since the kids could buzz off and play at the end of the garden while we enjoyed the food and wine. The cuisine is local but with a global twist; the hamburgers are great and the crudites are grown at the restaurant. My favourites were the chicken with salad and roast potatoes, but the pasta must be mentioned for its excellence. Dining in such a big party we challenged the wait staff, but they could not have been more helpful or accomodating on all occasions. I like the flexibility of the restaurant since it manages to be casual yet elegant. The design of the restaurant pays homage to its 1930's roots but the experience is absolutely up to date and well worth a visit.

On our way through Tuscany to Montepulciano, we pulled over to enjoy the view and noticed this little place tucked away off the road. Gorgeous room, with a great outdoor area to sit. Thoroughly enjoyed the antipasto platter and a gorgeous glass of wine, served by friendly staff. Highlight of our trip through Tuscany and good luck with this place...hope it sticks around for a long time!
