Tuscan Escape Tours took a group of three to visit this incredible farm for lunch during a day trip to Pienza and Montepulciano, what a wonderful experience.
With tables outside under shade and overlooking a stunning view of the surrounding plains, Pienza, Monte Amiata and the Val d'Orcia, we experienced real home grown cuisine.
All of the items put on the table were produced on the family farm including the flowers in the vase and the garnish, the salads, the pasta and sauces, superb olive oil, red and white wines and the most fantastic sheep and goat cheeses. All herbs used in flavouring are grown on site and are even used in reputable restaurants by chefs who seek advice from the talented young woman who served us. She is well versed in the use and flavours of locally grown herbs. The farm also provides sites for camping whether families, couples or groups, cooking classes and an outlet for purchasing the pasta, sauces, spices, wines, olive oil and cheese. A great experience , no one wanted to leave , we could have so easily just sat there for the rest of the day absorbing the natural delights of the surroundings.
