My husband and I hired out the whole of Borgo dei Lunardi in Sept 2009 for our wedding. There were 50 of us and we all loved it! It's an absolutely gorgeous location with fantastic views in the heart of beautiful Tuscany. The apartments are rustic and self-catering but extremely comfortable with everything you could need. The staff there were brilliant too - helpful and there to make sure we had a special wedding.

In particular I have to rave about the Cucina del Borgo, the restaurant on site, and the chef there, Stefano. He cooked for fifty of us for three days and everything was absolutely delicious, especially our wedding meal, which was six courses of heaven!

Borgo also make their own olive oil and wine, and offer tours around their estate with tasting sessions to finish. Couldn't recommend this place enough etiher for a Tuscan break or another wedding.

We stayed in this place for 7 nights in September. We were very disappointed. This place has a lot of potential - the buildings are nice and the view was wonderful, we liked the area very much and were able to do day trips to many beautiful places including Pisa, Lucca & San Gimignano. The disappointment comes from the lack of staff, information and assistance of any kind. When we arrived we received our key by a man who was working there and that was it we were left to it. We were provided with no other information about the property at all eg. restuarant opening hours, emergency contacts etc. When in the unit we found that there was absolutely nothing to wash dishes with, there was no detergent, no cloths nothing. We were woken early the next morning by a lady who is in attendance at the property in the mornings between 9 and 12. She wanted to ensure that we paid our security deposit and cleaning fee. I asked her about something to wash the dishes with and she went from unit to unit until she found some dishwashing liquid that was it. We had to go to the supermarket to get everything else. As we were also gone before 9 and home a long time after 12 we didn't see her again and as we had to catch an early train on the Monday morning we thought that we should wait for her to arrive on the Saturday so we could see her and get our security deposit back - she told us then that she would not be there on Sunday so it was lucky we did make the effort or we would not have got our deposit back. When showering we also had to be very careful as the water went from warm to boiling every few seconds so you had to keep jumping out of the way. It was ridiculous. The unit we were in was also very cold and whilst there was heating we were unable to make it work and of course could not find any instructions or any one to assist. As there were no extra blankets we had to sleep in jumpers to keep warm. The unit also only had two hotplates and no oven or microwave so while we had intended to cook nightime meals we ended up doing this only once. We did eat in the restaurant one night and it was a fabulous meal and the staff there were fantastic. Unfortunately when we went to eat there again the restuarant was shut - We could find no information about opening hours etc and had to do a mad dash into town to find something to eat. We wouldn't stay here again.

We spent one of the best nights in all of Italy at this beautiful estate. The estate is located just outside of Vinci and it has everything you need to truly enjoy Tuscany. The staff was extremely helpful when we arrived and the rooms were spotless and huge. There is a pool, wine-bar and one of the best restaurants that we ate at in all of Italy (we spent over 15 nights all over Italy). The views around the estate are nothing short of fantastic. My wife and I enjoyed a bottle of local wine (they have their own label) while watching workers harvest grapes all around us.

The head chef of the restaurant, Stefano Pinciaroli, personally greeted and served us. He recommended one of the best meals we have ever had and the wine pairing was perfect.

There is no question that we make a return visit to this hotel and while I have used this word numerous times, it turly was perfect.
