We stayed mid April 2009 and had a wonderful time in Tuscany. The location of Borgo Iesolana is well situated in Tuscany...there is many incredible nearby hill towns to visit.
It is a bit tricky to find the road leading to the inn but look for a landmark...I will upload a picture of the "bridge" to cross. It is atleast a mile off the main road going down a rugged gravel type road that leads to Iesolana. It was not crowded when we were there....hardly anyone present. We stayed in the Portico which was wonderfully quaint for us. The weather was great in April of 2009. The food was delicious if you need to eat there.
Just be aware that the place is somewhat isolated and expect to travel to get anywhere.
ps load up on groceries....before you get to the inn...much more convenient.

A group of 10 of us rented three apartments in this restored hamlet last September. It really was an amazing experience which we all still talk about. Each apartment was clean and well equipped and decorated in clean neutral colours yet still managed to have character. We could not believe that the apartments looked even better than on the website. The staff were also extremely helpful. We were in the middle of a working vineyard and at night could hear the wild boar eating grapes and could hear the hunters shooting!! There are lots of walks nearby and the town of Bucine is a 10 minute drive from the hamlet and there are all the basic shops for food that you need. The only negative is the road to the Borgo Iesolana is gravel which can be a bit hairy, and also you have to cross a very narrow stone bridge so don't rent a really large car. We took one of the cooking classes which though not the best value, was lots of fun and the food was great. You can buy the Borgo's wine from the reception area very cheaply. The swimming pool was magical with views across the valley. It really was the experience of a life time and good value. It was also a great base to explore place like Siena and Arezzo.

The Borgo Iesolana exceeded our expectations. The setting, the landscaping, the apartment, the staff were all above and beyond what we expected. It was such a relaxing environment, perfect for a getaway to Tuscany. We hated to leave!

We recently stayed at Iesolana as a late booking into the Lecci apartment and absolutely loved it. We have stayed in Tuscany before but the accomodations at Iesolana are superb. The grounds are impecabble with red geraniums blooming everywhere. It is amazing to wake up to birds chirping and tractors grooming the vineyards every morning.

The views are amazing. Iesolana sits on a hilltop and the views are magnificent at every turn. The wine bar offers breakfast and dinners and wine made at their vineyards along with olive oil. A bottle of their wine is only 6 euro and is fantastic. The main dining room offers laptops for a nominal fee and laundry is available and the staff was happy to do it for us. We realized after we left that the 10 euro per load was very reasonable and was what was being charged in the do it yourself laundromats in Florence.

Our apartment was beautifully furnished and very modern. A flat screen tv was in the living room and the cable gave us many channels. The bedrooms have lovely built in closets and the bathrooms were very modern and lovely with tumbled marble. Maids swept the terraces every day and everything couldn't have been cleaner.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accomodating. They were simply terrifice and so helpful with dinner suggestions or touring ideas.

There were so many incredible restaurants within a 15 minute drive of Iesolana and the food was out of this world. The Osteria in Montebenichi was amazing as was Querceto in nearby Levane.

The bridge to Iesolana was so wonderful. Iesolana is a little tricky to find, but once you do, it is so worth itl.

I can't wait to go back to this heavenly spot.

We just returned from a two week honeymoon in Italy and our four night stay at the Borgo Iesolana was certainly a highlight. A lovely rustic town has been refurbished on the interior into modern but cozy rooms. You have the best of both worlds - the beauty of the old with all of the comforts of new. The views from the place are spectacular, in every direction. We could not use the pool since it was very cold, but the area around it still made for a nice place to look out over the sunset.

We had the smallest of their rooms and still had plenty of space for two people. The bathroom was great with a glass shower and tasteful tiling. The rooms are outfitted with very nice tvs that have satellite. The kitchen was small, but the cupboards contained everything we needed for our stay. The rooms were immaculately clean when we got there.

The staff is extremely helpful without overwhelming you with their presence if, like us, you are excited about some quiet. The wine is some of the best we had while traveling.

A car is an absolute must here. Further, although large vehicles are not common in Europe the bridge that you must cross to get to the Borgo is narrow. So, it would be best not to have a particularly enormous vehicle!

We returned in May from a week at the Borgo Iesolana and loved it! We followed the directions over the Old Roman Bridge, the very narrow Old Roman Bridge and started the climb up a dirt road, past acres of grape vines and olive trees. Just when we thought we might have made a wrong turn we saw the large Borgo Ieosolana sign welcoming us. The old style of the buildings in the hamlet were contrasted by the modern looking building holding the reception, restaurant and wine bar, all very modern and beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Cipressi unit which had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms as we requested to accomodate 2 couples traveling together. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen small but nicely furnished and the bathrooms were beautifully decorated with marble floors and glass showers.
The pool was magnificent (though it was too cold at the time for us to use it) and the setting was so peacful and quiet with no highways, power lines or cell towers to disrupt the glorious view.
The nearby town of Bucine has a train station which has frequent trains to Florence (1 hour) . It was a nice change from driving - it seemed to take about an hour's drive to get to most of the towns we visited in the area. You could also get all the supplies needed at the shops in Bucine.
I would definitely recommend the Borgo Iesolana if you are visiting Arezzo Tuscany area.

Borgo Iesolana is a farm nestled in a vineyard in the Tuscan hills in the province of Arezzo, making it within reach either by car or train to the lovely towns of Arezzo, Siena and Florence. You reach it via a 2 km track making the views panoramic. You can buy the wine and olive oil from the estate. It has around nine apartments which are very tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, the only downside being most of the apartments do not have baths. The owner has paid particular attention to detail which makes Borgo Iesolana stand out from other residences and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The very large pool faces the sunset and accomodates all the guests with everyone having their privacy.

The Borgo has a restaurant. It has a set menu and the food is excellent. Iesolana is near to the village of Bucine which has a railway station and all the amenities that are required for a self catering holiday.

Our family would highly recommend Iesolana to people who would like a true Tuscan experience at a reasonable cost. A car is essential.
