A hotel which travels you in the past.

On a hill, in a palace, in a stunning area, with an immaculate view of the surrounding hills.

Swimming pool, tennis court, lovely rooms, clean and super neat.

An experience you should have

We had a great stay for a wedding we attended. We had a one bed apartment with a sofa bed for a family of 4. The hotel is split between a hotel and five minutes away are a set of apartments, where we stayed. The room was comfy and spacious with basic cooking facilities. The bathroom was big and had all amenities needed. The room had aircon, but it was quite weak for the size of the room so we had to keep it on all day and night, but was fine in the end. Breakfast was excellent and filled us up until dinner, more or less. During the day, we camped at one of the two swimming pools, which were relatively quiet, perfect for kids and we never had difficulty getting a lounger The surroundings are absolutely stunning and the view, both day and night, is just breathtaking. It should be said that the venue is geared around weddings so it can get taken over, a bit, but for us that wasn't a problem but word of wording for the casual holidaymaker. Thank you to the hotel and its staff for their hospitality.

It certainly is a most beautiful place with wonderful panoramas. The hotel is lovely and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful.
On the minus side however, In August it is full of children taking over the pool area so it is impossible to get in it with peace and quiet until after they have gone for dinner. The one thing that annoyed me the most is the incredibly intrusive presence of the gardening and cleaning staff in the morning. They are literally EVERYWHERE, hoovering, washing, gardening, moving chairs, the lot, and this is from 8am to 11am. So you arrive and its full of staff and you feel as if you are being observed and that the place is not for you but for them. In most 4 star hotels you never see the staff because they have done the work before you wake up. Imagine wanting to go for a quiet swim at 8am and there is some bloke banging deckchairs and moving towels from the day before when you want peace, then you go to reception and someone is hoovering, and then you go to the garden and somebody is watering the footpaths so your shoes get muddy. and then you go to the other garden and a host of cleaners are banging trolleys down paths, I wont be going again.

We arrived at the hotel and received a lovely welcome from the young lady on reception. She helped us with difficulties caused by the loss/theft of our hand luggage at the airport hire area.
The hotel is gorgeous, in a wonderful setting in the Tuscan hills. The pool is a good size and the young staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were fairly unconcerned when informed that there was a wedding the next day. I was a little disappointed that the pool was out of action as it was part of the festivities. When my husband made enquiries I was pleased to find out that I could swim in the morning. We then spent the day out to avoid the festivities.
The wedding party continued late that evening and was very audible and visible at the only bar. However we still had an enjoyable evening. The following day we were also out during the day. When we went to the bar there were no staff, due to the wedding party having a formal dinner in the restaurant. We went to reception and the young lady rang the restaurant and advised us to get a drink from here. The charming and obliging barman then came and got us a drink.
Again the next day we were out. We came back to party, party, party. The party went on until 4am with extremely loud music, still sounding very loud in the next village where we went to escape. The wedding was fabulous and the guests had an amazing time. However we hadn’t been invited and it was not the holiday we had been looking forward to enjoying.
The next day I went to see Reception to ask if we needed to be prepared for any other events. I suggested that guests should have been informed of such a large wedding party. They could then change to other accommodation. He was very dismissive and implied, “like it or lump it.”
I am very patient but feel that a three day wedding at a very small hotel would try the patience of a saint.
However I wish the couple well and it was a truly amazing wedding.

Dear Tenuta di Artimino-team,
We would like to thank you all for making our stay in Tuscany such a wonderful experience! The location and views on the surrounding hills are breathtaking. The staff was always friendly and ready to help. The double appartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. And the local-grown food in the restaurant was delicious (not to mention the wine - be sure to try the Grumarello :-))

Our 2 kids thoroughly enjoyed their holiday - and as a consequence, so did we.
