This hotel helped to make our group/family holiday in Passo Tonale. The staff were lovely we tried a little Italian (which certainly helped) but they also tried with their English. The room was a typical ski room, clean and basic. The bed was comfy and the shower was excellent and hot, which is what you want at the end of the day skiing or after apres-ski!! The food was typical for the region in Italy, with some lovely pasta dishes. One of our group is a fussy eater and they never left hungry!!! The hotel is very central for the resort and if you don't fancy carrying your skis everyday you can hire a locker at the slopes. The Neilson reps (Tom, Ally and Aarron) could not have been more helpful and welcoming they definitely made every effort to make our holiday enjoyable. For Apres-ski try Las Barracas and also visit magic bar!!

Just stayed at The Albergo Eden (last week of Feb. 2014). Cannot fault the service, friendliness, cleanliness, comfort and the cuisine of the hotel. However, there are a couple of areas on which the hotel could improve with very little outlay. The bar was reasonably priced (good bottle of Chianti 13 euros, 660ml of Forst lager 4 euros) but lacked atmosphere in which to enjoy aperitif or social drinks. If the bar had a more welcoming/charming barman and been a little less clinical, we would have spent more time there. Also, we ran up our bar bill to 86 euros, which we agreed to pay on our last day. Disappointingly, we were unable to pay with credit or debit card as the hotel accepted cash only. Fortunately, the ATM across the road was working when we went (we were told it can be erratic). In fact, there are many other places in Passo Tonale that accept cash only including the only tobacco shop. Other than these minor points, the hotel was wonderful, very family friendly, very close to the slopes and even gave us breakfast at 3.30am prior to our departure. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Room Tip: All rooms have shutters outside the double glazed windows. Any external noise is no issue at all and...

Just returned today, we booked last year (a group of 7) and due to the reviews on this hotel were very worried, BUT we have had a fantastic week, the Hotel is a typical ski hotel, rooms very clean, everything you need, cleaned everyday, the food, dinner plenty of choice, massive portions, yes the salad bar goes quickly, but you are told dinner is 7.30pm!! so if you are late that's your choice and your loss!! on our last evening the pasta was with sea food, but we asked for pasta with tomato for some of our group and this was not a problem, breakfast is the typical, cereal/bread/ham etc but again the norm for a ski resort. The staff are great, try to speak a little Italian, it does help, you are in their Country!! This was our first time with Neilson, our rep's Tom and Ali were fab, Tom had an accident while we were there, Arron was our replacement from Livigno, also very good. Great time had by all, thank you Hotel Eden and Neilson -

We stayed at Albergo Eden at the end of January and could not fault it considering how little we paid. The rooms are basic but clean and perfectly adequate. The food was very good and we were always able to find something to eat, some of the pasta dishes were excellent and you never left feeling hungry! After all you can't go wrong with pasta in Italy.
Passo Tonale is an excellent resort and great for beginners and intermediates, the snow conditions were fantastic which I don't think is a one off, it snows all the time there. We are seriously considering going back next year!
We went with crystal and found them to be very organised, friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Eden for a weeks skiing, the room was clean but basic. Unfortunately the breakfast was just your typical cold continental with no hot option. At dinner there was a mad rush for the salad bar which wasn't replenished, and the rest of the food was quite tasteless. This was my second time to Passo Tonale and I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you eat out.

Went away skiing in a mixed ability group end of January 2014. Passo is a great resort for all but the most advanced. (Off piste is limited.)
ABOUT THE HOTEL: The Eden is a decent budget 3* hotel, it’s kept spotlessly clean. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and always nice and warm. Always had lots of hot water. The food is fine, always a choice of starters and main course which you choose the evening before. The evening meal was always well cooked and hot. Portions were a good size. You buy bottles of wine, water or soft drinks and any unused drinks are marked up with table number and brought out the following night. Drinks prices are very reasonable. Very well situated hotel and the walk to the main lifts were within 3 minutes. Boot room was always very warm and clean, although when you first walked downstairs in the morning the septic tank smell was a bit strong. Plenty of SPAR supermarkets and a bank with cash point about 100 metres up the hill. I would definitely go back to this hotel again.
ABOUT THE RESORT: We had incredible snowfall just before we arrived and during our stay so the conditions couldn't have been any better. There are some lovely cruising blues in Tonale but if you head over to Ponte Dilegno you will find some more challenging runs. The runs in Ponte are mainly tree lined. The Presena Glacier is a great experience, at 10,000 foot it’s pretty high and the scenery is breathtaking. A t-bar at the top takes you to a lovely red. The black run back down to resort is not particularly challenging, although at a couple of miles long it’s a leg burner. The mountain restaurants are very well priced for food and drinks. Pizza and pasta always make for a great lunchtime meal. APRÈS: We used to go to the Magic Pub by the main lift at about 5. The beer was 4 euro's but happy hour was 5 till 6 and was 2 euro's. Bar was lively and buzzing until about half 6 then it emptied. We used to leave about 7 o'clock and usually we were the last people in there. Didn't sample the clubs in resort because after evening meal we used to have a couple of drinks in the hotel bar then bed, but a couple of lads staying in the Eden said the clubs were OK.
TRIPS: We did 2 trips; the first was a ski away day to Madonna Di Campiglio. It was 22 euro's each and if you buy the full area pass you get one days skiing in Madonna included. I have to say, Madonna is a lovely resort. Wide cruising runs and almost empty slopes. A lot more upmarket than Passo and one of the nicest ski days I've had. I will definitely return to Madonna for a proper holiday at some time. Recommend this trip to all levels of skier and was excellent value for money. Again, food and drink was very good and well priced. The other trip was a night time Skidoo trip which was 90 euro's for 2 (You actually pay per skidoo so if there is only one of you its still the same price.). We went out for a full hour and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't one of those stop/start trips; it was a full hour of fun with a little drink break in the middle. Again, I thought it was reasonable value for money.
Overall verdict: I would rate this hotel/resort as very good value for money with good skiing for all levels apart from advanced. It’s great for mixed ability groups/families and with cheap Après it wont leave you feeling ripped off. I will definitely return to Passo and would be very happy going back to the Hotel Eden.

The hotel isn't expensive so don't expect miracles. The same breakfast every day, rolls, cheese and mortadela. Dinners rather tasteless. But the stuff are nice and friendly. In my room hugh fungus on the ceiling! Very dump, water on windowsills. Check the room first. Close to the lifts. If you aren't fussy then no problem.
