Just got back from Xmas ski break this hotel it was excellent 150 metre down hill walk to neareast lift and if you are slightly adventurous you can ski back to within 20 metres, 50 metre walk to best bar (el bait, very lively and welcoming). Rooms spotless and good sized, I think they all have balconies, the family who run the hotel could not have been more helpful, although their english is not very good hey they are italian. Food very good but typical of area so if you want english food go somewhere else. Wine and bar very reasonable, and a games room with Table tennis pool etc for kids. They appeared to run a free disco 2-3 nights of the week as well.
All in all excellent hotel in very good ski area.

My girlfriend (22) and I (26) have just returned from a weeks skiing over the new year in Passo Tonale staying at the Hotel Panorama.
The first thing to mention is that if you are looking for a resort with a variety of clubs, pubs, bars and entertainment and you are wanting to spend the evenings out on the town then this resort is not for you. In addition, if you're looking for a quaint, authentic Italian village then, once more, there is probably better out there. However, if you are someone looking for fantastic views, lots of snow and good, varied and long runs then this is the resort with all amenities within 400 metres!
We really enjoyed the week at the resort; it had everything we wanted, the odd cosy bar, 100 metres from the lifts and a little supermarket etc. The slopes were great for beginners/intermediates although if you're better than intermediate you may get a little bored. We loved the long 2 mile blue run!
As for the hotel, the room was spotlessly clean, very modern (flat screen tv etc) and very spacious but there were some issues we had with it to be aware of. The food was extremely disappointing (cornflakes, museli, bread roll or boiled egg was for breakfast) while the evening meal faired little better. One night I was given what was essentially jumbo sausage and chips (10 chips!), another was a slice of pork (no sauce) and 3 florets of cauliflower, another was 4 slices of tomato with a few chunks of mozzarella cheese etc. The salad buffet was minimal. For dessert we got what we were given where as the Italian speaking customers (the majority) were given a choice, which leads onto our second issue.
The owners spoke very little English and rather than attempting to do their best and help us they simply ignored us. We were not asked if our meal was ok when our Italian dining neighbours were frequently asked, we were just given a pudding whereas the italian diners were offered ice cream or mousse or other options.
When we first arrived at the hotel at 2pm (after getting up at 2am that morning!) the owner shrugged and told us our rooms were not available and to come back in a few hours! We did and there was no sign of our room being ready. Begrudgingly we were given our key another hour later. No apologies.
Finally, the New Years Eve Gala Dinner was to begin at 8:30pm rather than the usual 7:30pm. We were not told of the different time and there was no information so we came down and were ushered back up to our rooms again with a shrug.
Overall, we did really enjoy the holiday. The slopes are excellent, the bar we went to in the evening was great ('El Bait' - real athentic little pub with good music and snacks) and the resort was small, modern and had everything we needed close by. The Panorama is spacious, clean and modern but i'm afraid we found the owners to be rude and unhelpful and the food choice to be limited and basic.

We just got back after a fantastic week of snow at Passo Tonale.
There was not much night life to be seen, but to be honest we didn't mind as the resort and our hotel were superb.
The Panorama is a spotlessly clean hotel, with very friendly people running it. Their English was very basic, so i tried to use my Italian phrase book, which they seemed to appreciate (and i had great fun doing this too).
The food was lovely, with the usual self serve breakfast (coffee being provided by the waitress). The evening meal was chosen the night before, and was delivered to your table, in 3 courses. There was then a selection of veg and salad to help yourself to as you wish. We topped this off with a bottle of the local vino every night at around 10 Euros.
Ski room for storage at the entrance hall, and the nearest ski lift around 200 metres away; all excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The resort too. Very good snowboarding and skiing too.

Have just returned from a weeks skiing in Passo Tonale staying at the Hotel Panorama. What a great hotel. Hotel's own website does not do it justice. The hotel feels pretty new. The rooms are spotless, well thought out with everything you may need. We had a room with balcony on the top floor with spectacular views of the mountains. The food was good and ample, and catered pretty well for vegetarians, they were very obliging. There is a heated ski locker room, small lounge and bar. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean. It is about 100 metres from the slopes, in a quiet spot. I would highly recommend the hotel.

this hotel was spotless, with reasonable sized rooms, charming staff and excellent food.

we had booked a cheap weeks skiing and feared the worst but this hotel was better than many we have stayed in which have cost a lot more.

a real find.
