We spent 2 days in Portoscuso in September 2012. Friends had recommended La Ghinghetta. We had half board, not cheap, but worth it. Nice large room overlooing the sea and the island west of Portoscuso. Small beach just under our window. The owner and his staff made every effort to make us feel at home and we did. The restaurant is excellent.
With the half board comes 5 dish meals and they were superb. Mostly sea food. Some dishes were quite inventive and everything was superbly put on the plates. If you cannot eat very much, be careful not to eat all antipasti and primi courses because you may not have enough space left in your stomach for the second course. Excellent service. Good wine.
We had two small remarks. The first day we had grilled seabream as a second course. It had been on the grill too long so it was dry, not burned, just dry. The second day we had and ice cream dessert, and the ice cream was too hard to cut with a spoon. We saw guests that left half of their dessert.
Nevertheless we truly recommend La Ghinghetta.
