I chose Sardinia as the holiday for this summer for one reason and one reason only - because I saw a picture of Cala Goloritze in a Times Travel supplement of 'great places to visit'. I just said to myself - "got to go there".
You need to invest 3.5 hrs of hiking in blistering hot weather if you do it in summer. Worth it? Oh yes? Is it crowded when you get there? Surprisingly it usually is - almost 100% Italian from what I could see. Also surprisingly that wasn't really a problem as most of them (excluding people zipping in on small boats) had also invested 3.5 hrs walking there too so there was almost a shared camaraderie when you got there, flopped in the surf, took a breath and had a look around at the stunning, stunning view. It really does look as if someone's just trid to design a beach with 'perfect attributes' and plonk it down somewhere on earth. A must visit.
