“Great hotel!!!”
Reviewed June 2, 2010

If You wish to pass a relaxing time with your second part out of sights, this hotel is definitely for you. It’s situated in Baia Sardinia, just 15 min by car far from Porto Cervo. It’s really peaceful and calm place for the total relax.
There are around 30 rooms and all of them are with the sea view so that your stay will be even more calm. All the rooms are really spacious with the big bathroom that has a double shower cabin and a balcony.
First of all I’d like to say about the staff of the hotel – all of them are extraordinary nice and polite, it was really a pleasure as every our wish or request were done immediately and on the high level. I have to add that the staff is not only English-speaking but also German and French speaking, so for sure noone will have difficulties with the communication.
The beach of the hotel is almost private: “almost” because in Italy it’s quite impossible by the law that a hotel has the beach in the private property, but since around of this hotel there isn’t almost any kind of other hotel or villa, it’s like the private beach that belongs to the hotel and which is attended by the guests of the hotel. The hotel tried to get this territory in a rent but the government of the coast doesn’t permit it (probably the reason is the typical bureaucracy which is really common in Italy) but nevertheless the staff of the hotel takes care of the beach – they clean it, serve you the sun beds and umbrellas….etc
Obviously You can stay also at the pool that is quite big with the sun beds around it. There is no necessity that you bring towels with you as the hotel will provide it to you. Just one step from the pool there is the bar of the hotel where you can have a drink or eat something. The prices are high in general but more than normal for Costa Smeralda.
Talking also about the food, I’d say that the restaurant of the hotel – Lunaria – is really really good and worth visiting. I don’t know if it can be attended by the guests out of the hotel or only by those that are logging in the hotel. We had a half-board with breakfast and possibility to choose between supper and dinner. At the dinner You have the complete choice of dishes: starter, first dish and the second dish. Being the Italian, I can say that the dinner was really delightful that usually is not so much easy to find at the restaurant of the hotel. Just prepare that the drinks are not included in the price and you’ll leave around 9€ for the bottle of water and 3-4€ for the coffee…
So almost for all the period we ate in the hotel and only 1 evening we went to the restaurant at Porto Cervo – Fratti Rossi – that is also absolutely to be advised.
In the hotel there is also the fitness room and the inside pool where You can relax after making some of the treatments that offers you the beauty center of the hotel. There is also free wifi in the lobby and at the bar of the hotel, and free LAN connection in the room.
In general, is the hotel where we would come back again and is one to advise to our friends.

Just back from a week at the L'ea Bianca with our 5 month old son. Despite the weather (some days cold and windy) and no water for 1 day (a problem affecting the whole region), we had a lovely stay and would fully recommend. The highlight for us was the service which was really 5* from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. In particular, the restaurant which was fantastic, and Giovanni ("the boss" of the restaurant) and his team. We loved the friendly and helpful pool staff and bar managers as well. The only negatives from our side would be the mark-up on snacks/drinks/wine in the hotel (very high for us and we live in Zurich, Switzerland which isn't cheap). However, we came to realise that this is more about Costa Smeralda in general than this hotel in particular. Actually, Euro 50 for a Euro 7 bottle of wine looks not too bad when other hotels are charging Euro 70 for the same bottle, and some 5* hotels on the coast charged Euro 15-18 for a bottle of beer against a price of Euro 8 in L'ea Bianca, so in a funny way it was cheaper than most others!!! In short, don't go to Costa Smeralda if you're on a budget. For us it was a special holiday and we went knowing from friends that this part of Sardinia is an expensive destination and were relaxed about spending extra money in the hotel given this was our first family holiday with our young son. Keep up the great work. We will be back.....

Obviously if you're planning to stay in or around Costa Smerelda you know it's not going to be cheap. The L'ea Bianca is a modern hotel, small by some standards but this ensures that you're never overcroweded. The bedrooms are of a good size and the bathrooms equally well equipped. The pool area is beautiful and the restaurant offered a different 3 course menu every night. Giovanni runs the restuarant with a smile and his team were excellent.
The spar area is quite small and the gym is more an add-on with very limited space and equipment (the hotel could improve this I think). The gardens and pool area are well managed and maintained to high standards.
The route to the beach is poor - it's little more than a footpath at best and again I think the hotel could improve this to make it more appealing and safer under foot.
If you just want to enjoy the hotel then it's superb but you do need a car to get around otherwise as the nearest public resort area is 20 mins by cycle and not accessible by foot. A taxi to Porto Cervo will set you back 35.00 Euro each way (no more than 10 mins journey) and bar prices at the hotel are on the high side (20 Euro for a G&T?)
All in all it's a lovely hotel with very warm and friendly staff - ideal for a quiet break in the sun. If you're looking for a more active hotel then this probably isn't the place for you.

First visit to this hotel. It is not a large hotel so if you are looking for a lively atmosphere this is not for you. It is in a beautiful location with stunning views but if you are looking for nightlife beyond the hotel bar/restaurant you will need to take a short drive. The rooms are lovely and all have amazing views. The pool is great with plenty of comfortable beds dotted around the beautiful gardens. The food in the restaurant was really good and a very varied menu every night. The staff are all helpful and friendly. The hotel is only a short drive from larger towns and about 30 mins from Olbia airport. Overall we were extremely impressed with the hotel and it certainly had the five star feel to it.

We leave in the USA and this was our first trip to Sardinia. We stayed at L’ea Bianca Luxury Resort on the recommendations of our travel agent, and we loved it! This hotel is very new and modern with the rooms that are larger that your average European hotels room sizes.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our every request.
This hotel is conveniently located to the Olbia airport and local places of interest such Porta Cherva, and other local destinations. A car is the must and GPA is very helpful to get around the area.

The hotel location is like a view of the dreamy post card, with very pleasant pool and pool area. Grounds are well maintained with a natural beach lagoon.

Although the menu in the restaurant was not very extensive, due to the early season, but the staff was accommodating and food was good.

We would highly recommend this resort to our friends.

We booked L'ea Bianca as we wanted a very special location for our honeymoon and wanted luxury with the location being close to a beach.

When we arrived (the signage for the hotel is terrible and we got lost trying to find the hotel) we were pleased with the initial look of the hotel although it did appear to have a concrete feel and not the whitewashed finish a lot of resorts have today. When entering our room we were told we have receieved a free upgrade to a junior suite. However their description of a junior suite consists of a room with a small sofa in the corner! Very disappointing. The small balcony was covered in foliage which attracted flies and give the place an unclean feel.

Benefit of the doubt - the pool looked amazing (but very cold) and the restaurant was classed as one of the best in the area so we were itching to have our evening meal (we were booked half board). A decent bottle of wine set us back £50 and the drinks were so expensive we'd have been bankrupt if we'd have stayed longer than we did.

On our second day both myself and my husband were ill, my sickness seemed to clear up fairly quickly but my husband was knocked off his feet for 24 hours with severe sickness and diahorrea. The following day he made a fairly good recovery and we decided to eat again in the restaurant that evening. During the night he again came down with the same symptoms and this time was very ill. Hours later upon flushing the toilet, he found there was no water....a predicament not good for someone with stomach problems. I was advised by the concierge that the whole hotel had no water supply and this had happened the previous month.

To cut a long story short after calling a doctor and recovering we decided to get the next flight home. Everyone either of us ate in their restaurant we either felt nauseous or came down with stomach problems. There were flies all over the restaurant and the only way to describe the place was that the whole place seemed to be holding a false front.

We spent (and lost) £5K on our honeymoon and I would seriously recommend anyone considering it to not be fooled. The beach is awful and there was a load of rubbish on the walk down to it just outside the gate to the hotel, the food was not up to standard, the rooms were very poor and the location is not great unless you are happy to drive everywhere.

All in all a terrible holiday...would not recommend

Beautiful newly created hotel, 10 minutes north of Porto Cervo. Pluses include well appointed bedrooms (ours had a great garden overlooking the park and the pool), fantastic food, beautiful garden and great swimming pool. Location is also very convenient for Porto Cerco and Loco Rotondo. On the negative, the beach is not amazing, it's pretty expensive and the spa is still under construction. Overall we still had a great time and rented a car to take advantage ofNorthern Sardinia's stunning beaches (all at an easy 10/15 drive). Staff was extremely nice and accomodating. A great found !
