The hotel was magnificent and the views stunning. Beautiful resort with crystal clear waters. Only drawback was the hotel prices - £5.00 for a bottle of water or cup of coffee! We were lucky enough to have full board - the food is excellent quality but too much fish is served and not enough meat! Other than that everything was excellent.
The resort is a little isolated unless you hire a car or pay £100 each for a boat trip! There is no local transport to use and the taxi fares are astronomic. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with quality treatment this is the place.

We made a late booking at La Bisaccia with Citalia, who were also excellent, to get a break from our hectic lives and some late summer sun and were very lucky to choose this hotel. We chose the junior suite to get a sea view and a little more room than usual and it was well worth it. We were allocated Room 406 in the Residence, only 50 yards up some steps from the main building and pool, which had the most beautiful views over the bay out to Islas de la Maddelena and beyond to Corsica. It also had 2 balconies (!) one of which was ideal for drinking a pre-dinner glass of wine. The room was kept immaculately clean by a very friendly maid who turned down the bed and left our nightware beautifully arrayed!

The best part of the hotel is the restaurant which serves top quality meals that most London restaurants would envy. Again we were lucky that, being a late booking, we only paid for half-board but were given full board for no extra charge. The biggest surprise was our first lunch when after we’d had our fill from the superb buffet plus pasta, mussels and calamares when the waiter came over and asked us if we wanted fish. We declined that day but didn’t make that mistake again and always went for the superb fresh fish with a little hors d’oeuvres. All the meals were excellent, especially the fish, and they were served by very skilled waiters. The only disappointment was the price of the wines at €25 for an average Sardinian wine or €30+ for a better Italian one. Our tip is to buy wine at the local Spar (for €4-5) and drink before eating. If you do want a glass of wine with the meal ask the waiter to keep it for the following lunch or evening meal, which they will happily do.

The main problem was the weather which can hardly be blamed on the hotel. We stayed in the 3rd week of September and had mixed weather of cloud, thunderstorms and 2 rainy days, but with some sun most days. The hotel staff were very sympathetic and said that they had had 5 months without rain. After the storms had retreated east to Greece we had a glorious last day of blue skies and temperatures in the high twenties. It was a taste of what we had missed so if we return, which we might well do, we would go earlier in September. We still had our rest and relaxation which was what we went for.

In summary, the Hotel La Bisaccia was a great place to relax and enjoy eating the superb hotel food – just don’t drink the wine!

We were after a relaxing holiday where we could just lie on the beach or by the pool and this really fitted the bill.

We had a sea-view room with balcony which was very clean and spacious and was well cleaned every day with towels replaced three times a day.

We were on a full-board package, and being a food snob I was a bit dubious about this. My doubts were put to rest on the first meal, I found the food to be brilliant and definitely excellent value for money. There were plenty of options for each course and it really was delicious. The only bad meal we had in the week was the calamari which was a bit tough. The fact they also kept our bottles of wine until the following night if we hadn't finished it was particularly great. The waiting staff at the restaurant were all friendly and I felt the service was excellent.

The pool and pool area was clean and tidy with a good number of sunloungers. There was also a beach and other little coves with sunloungers on, even a couple in the gardens so there were plenty of options for sunbathing.

Would definitely recommend.

Visited the hotel for a week with my mom (Im 27, Mom 57).

Hotel itself is in a ideal location in the small resort. We had paid extra to be in the main building itself and also have a sea view. We were allocated room 116 which had amazing views over the bay & pool. There was a usual balcony area and then a further extended terrace area, which meant you could stand out of the terrace and have 180degree plus views around. Looking around this was probably one of the best rooms in the hotel, so we had been lucky and it was worth payign the extra for the view.

We spent time every morning on the terrace having a coffee before going down for breakfast. The on the evening the sunset was amazing, then later after dinner there was a lightening storm out at sea every night which was amazing to just sit out and watch.

The room itself was rather basic, but clean and comfortable. Was lacking tea/coffee making facilities so the travel kettle came with us. The items in the mini bar were high priced as usual so we avoided using it. Maid service twice daily. TV did not have many English channels, but lots of music channels for when gettign ready.

We were on a full board basis and the food was absolutely amazing. Very upper market, evening mains ranged from Sucking Pig to Stuffed Hare thighs, both of which were delicious. Four course menu every night! The pudding were also lovely. Waiters were slightly off, until the last evening meal unsurprisingly!

There was a wine list, which most local was around 30 euro a bottle or slightly more, so a bit on the expensive side. We stuck to the local beer, Ichnusa, which is great, however we failed to get an answer on how much a bottle was. Every drink you have goes on your room & you pay on the final day. Turns out a small bottle of beer was 5 euro, so techinically about £9-10 a pint. Very expensive.

The bar in the hotel was aimed more at the older generation. We walked up the hill to Despar (Spar) on the second day and stocked up on bottled beer for the room, therefore after dinner we would usually just chill out on the terrace with our own beer at 50 cent a bottle instead of 5euro.

Location: The hotel itself is in a lovely position at the end of the bay, very easy access to the main beach, which the hotel has it's own private area on the end, with lifeguard. The hotel grounds have it's own secluded coves along the coast. These gave it a personal feel, you could happily chill out on your own.

There are a few bars in the resort itself, an irigh coffee and a beer came to 15 euro, so yet again expensive. There really was nothign to do on the evening at all.

We walked to either end of the resort during the daytimes, not much going on anywhere. Very pretty. It is worth trekking up the hill just behind the hotels as there was some great views and photo opportunities.

Overall, had a lovely relaxing week, however after 4 days we had seen everything and could have done with a little more in the way of entertainment/nightlife. My mother also shared this opinion, along with another middle aged couple on the dining table next to us.

I would save this holiday for honeymoons or people who like to completely relax, enjoy good food & not worry about the cost.

I did not have the best stay at this hotel. The room I was given (not the one booked into as this was changed when they saw my English passport, my original room was crossed out on the registry and changed which I thought was strange but did not question at the time) was above the kitchen and banging pots and pans kept me awake until after 12 each night.

The meals looked great on the menu but I did not receive what was ordered. My wife pointed this out to me when our meals were different than the ones received by Italians on nearby tables. Night after night I received seafood paella's without seafood, or crab pasta without crab, or Shrimp gnocchi without (you guessed it and get the picture) shrimp. When I complained to the restaurant matrade on one occasion he tried telling me that the shrimp dish was not supposed to have shrimp and offered me some macoroni cheese with a smirk, two seconds later the Italians at the next table received the same dish with loads of shrimp on their plates, I left the restaurant in disgust a few times during my stay.

We were not "allowed" a table on the balcony because these were "booked" in advance, I asked to be put on the waiting list for the balcony but had to contend with a stuffy hot dining room full of flies.

For the money I spent I was extremely disappointed. Apart from my complaints to the matrade I did not did formally complain to management while I was staying due to the assumption that if the kitchen staff remove certain items from our meals they would also be capable of adding unpleasant items.

The resort is geared up for Italians, not many English were around during our stay and the difference in rooms, tables and food can only be put down to a racist attitude in treating English people differently. Please don’t go to this hotel unless you are Italian or hold an Italian passport.

The resort managed to satisfy two tired, in-need-of-a-break parents, 19 and 18 years old daughters and twelve year old son.
The hotel staff were polite, friendly and attentive.
We took the full board option - incredible meals! - and were mesmerised by the scope of the table d'hote menu. Portions were huge and the quality of the food exceptional.
Poolside service was great, large freeform pool (salt water, unfortunately) free towels and abundant beds - largely Italian and British clientele so no bed grabbing - and a lifeguard; a private, attended beach area and several secluded coves provided variety for swimmers and sunworshippers alike.
We stayed in the residence, which turned out to be apartvillas adjacent (very close) to the main hotel block. The accommodation was rustic but clean, spacious and serviced twice daily by the housekeepers. We were given two neighbouring villas but could have all fitted into one; the kids were thrilled by the luxury of separate rooms. The kitchens were well equipeed and the longes fitted with satellite TV and DVD player.
Only criticism, and then only relative give the state of the pound vs Euro and the high costs everywhere in Sardinia, is that bar prices were high and tended to drive us into town for our post-prandial cocktails. This aside, we had a fantastic stay at La Bisaccia and will not hesitate to book again (probably with Citalia again, who were also excellent).

Recently returned from a week at the Hotel. On arrival we were shown to our room which was enormous, 3 beds, although only 2 of us, large terrace overlooking the sea and bathroom with Wet Room Shower which was fantastic.

The Hotel and Grounds are in a beautiful setting and lovely gardens, pool lovely but very cold in September, put my foot in but thats all!!

Dinner in the evening was very good, drinks expensive, but then again they always are in Hotels wherever you travel to. Menu good and if nothing you like they ask if you would like anything else one night had Seabass instead of menu at no extra charge.

The little 'town' is small but adequate, supermarket a good walk out of Baja Sardinia on the main road, stop at Baia Bar for a Cappucino, best by far.

Did a day trip to Tempio and Agritourismo inland, had a lovely traditional meal with wine and liquers, very good, next time we will hire a car, as in September the roads seemed very quiet.

The resort virtually closes at the beginning of October. The weather when we were there was cool in the evening, jacket or cardi needed, especially if you eat outside.

Loved it so much that 2 days after returned booked again for September 2009 at the same Hotel.

All in all a lovely Holiday on a beautiful Island.
