“Stunning artwork, location and hotel”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

We arrived for two nights on 5th April for my Dad's 70th birthday. The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, the room was lovely with a beautiful view of Rome at night flickering in the distance. The shuttle bus took us down to Frascati station to visit Rome on the Sunday and picked us up in the evening. We didn't get chance to eat in the restaurant as there was a wedding on but we had drinks and nibbles in the bar, really good selection of wines. The frescos on the wall are amazing and you are provided with a printout of the history of the artwork which was fascinating. It was fantastic sitting having a glass of wine in the bar looking up at centuries old paintings on the ceiling. Beautiful grounds although too early in the season to try the swimming pool. Will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Room Tip: We got room 229 which was large, very clean, comfortable and the perfect view over Rome. My father w...

Ants in the bathroom, telephone in room out of service. Restaurant with very good food and service. anyway the hotel has a good price value. I stayed there for one night and I slept in an uncomfortable bed. I had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious.

Arrived on a Sunday afternoon to me meted by a driveway leading to a lovely looking building which was stunning as the sun was going down.
Bags dropped to the room which on first glance was ACCEPTABLE.
Was shown round and informed of all options of weddings and prices etc which we're confusing and random to say the least. " you can eat outside but if you want to cut the cake outside €1200 extra"! Why? We need more staff as further to walk food etc. but I have just eaten a 5 course meal outside surely you don't need more staff for a cake.? Not really answered as such. Explain actions were all over the place you can use this room for free and this room but this room costs more if you want to use it etc etc. I just purely wanted to hire somewhere to get married not be stuck in two rooms with a wedding party.
Then we inquired about dinner which to my surprise there was none. Not even a sandwich available. The kitchen was simply CLOSED.
Needless to say after that it sealed the choice for me and will not be returning to the grazioli when around frascati, grottaferatta there are lots of other hotels to stay at.
As part of the SLH group, SMALL LUXURY HOTELS which I have stayed in a few around the world I have no idea how or why this place keeps its name or status, a total let down.
When I spoke to the receptionist I was told its quiet this time of year. Yes it is but there was still four members of staff FOH and it took 25 mins for a latte in the bar.
Stay somewhere else I say at least you might get fed and watered.
Lastly the lady informed us in her words
"Customers of the Grazioli prefer quiet and discreetness. Not to be seen and are people who appreciate quiet"
Basically I think this place thinks it's more than what it is. Oh and don't make noise clients don't like it!!!!

Room Tip: Room with a view was lovely at night but doesn't look worse or better if you have not been fed...

This hotel is on a hill overlooking Rome with a magnificent view. It is also one of the most beautiful and peaceful hotels I have stayed in. The public rooms are well furnished in traditional Italian style with amazing frescoes, furnishings, chandeliers. You feel you are staying in someones private villa. The check in was a little brusque with no information where the stairs/lift were but this was more than made up for by the characterful (and knowledgeable) waiter at dinner. I just had a very light dinner but it was very good. WiFi available with a charge but I was paying a bed and breakfast rate of 90 Euros which was incredibly reasonable for a deluxe room in the main villa. Other rooms are available in the adjoining buildings. Frascati very close by. I will try very hard to come back here as this is one of the best, individual hotels I've been to.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main villa with a view of Rome.

We found this hotel almost by accident through the Avios website. We had booked a cruise from Civitavecchia and wanted to stay on for a few days upon our return to Rome but felt that staying in the city in July would be too hot and crowded. What a great find this was!

The hotel is so beautiful, as are the pool and garden and it was a very relaxing stay, especially after our three days sight-seeing in Rome. We enjoyed the food and fantastic hospitality, we found all the staff were very polite and helpful, booking us into an art gallery and giving us information on trains and travel. We found the courtesy bus to and from the train station in Frascati invaluable.

We would love to stay again and highly recommend it.

On my last occasion I was not much impressed with Villa Grazioli and I kept a negative perception of the venue. But the last three days were very good. The lively workshop in the hotel made me appreciate all the comfortable and airy lounging space available. Good for quiet conversations, chat and negotiations. Buffet lunch and seated dinner had good food quality and slow service (not enough servant/guest ratio). The Room were overheated but overall clean and comfortable. The view from the villa is spectacular on sunny days.

Room Tip: Main building Second Floor.

We booked this hotel because we were invited for a wedding reception neraby and we wanted not to stay in Rome (too noisy and too busy). The hotel has a fantastic location overlooking Rome valley very close to Frascati village and to Villa Aldobrandini. We booked a very special offer with a very low rate and we really appreciated our stay. Front desk staffa at check in and check out have been very kind and informative. Our room was at ground floor in one of the two dependance (Limonaia): it was very clean and very well equipped. Bathroom was first class with a very large shower with colour lights. Breakfast was average but abundant: frankly you could expect much better standards in a Small Luxury Hotel and please at breakfast one waitress is really unsufficient for 62 rooms when she has also to take care of cleaning the adiacent banqueting room used the night before. It seems the place needs a better management and a bit of investment to get back to his splendor. Any way Very good value for money.(€ 90,00 per room breakfast inclusive.
