My Wife and I are in our sixties with some mobility issues. We stayed at this hotel for two weeks at the end of May this year and chose this hotel for it's Sorrentian location .The Villa Fernanda is a family operated place in the charming hilltop town of St Agata. The staff are very courteous , friendly and helpful We had a comfortable bed in our room overlooking the pretty rear garden The swimming pool area had plenty of Sun beds and chairs - a lovely space. The room had decent storage and amenities. A safe was available for a modest fee.The bathroom was fitted with a small shower WC.basin and Bidet .
Breakfast is typical continental plus scrambled eggs and Fankfurter sausages. Tea and Coffee from a machine, meats.Choices for evening meals are selected then. These consisted of pasta or soup, followed by meat/fish with a vegetable and a desert of fruit or cake. Nice wine .This is an excellent base for Sorrento. Buses are cheap . Tickets from the local Tobacconist. Taxis are quite expensive.
The town of St Agata has plenty of restaurants and shops which have helpful staff. The local tourist information is well set up and easily found and we found the people here to be particularly friendly .The little blue "Train" does an interesting three hour road tour which is great value for 20 Euros each and the driver is an amusing mine of information. Great views, lovely countryside and such a good little hotel to stay in.

When we arrived at hotel, check in was done quickly. Room very clean, bed comfy and spotless. The food is cooked fresh everyday, you are given a menu at breakfast to choose what you want for your evening meal. There was always something to eat, pasta was fab. Village was quiet, a few bars, restaurants and shops, bus to sorrento round the corner, it takes 30 mins, but there is a walk to town takes about 1 hour. I preferred the bus. The town was lovely, the narrow shopping alleys known locally as the drains an experience and the free walk by the tui rep was good to get your bearings. Would i go here again, yes its beautifull. People at the hotel very happy to help with any questions you ask, only problem we had was shower a bit too small. For a three star hotel it is truly excellent, I think it should be upgraded to a four as it puts some of the 4 stars I have stayed in to shame.

Room tip: ask for room at the back of hotel

A very typical Italian 3 star hotel in as much as you order your evening meal whilst having your buffet breakfast (which consisted of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, various breads and pastries, jam or honey, boiled eggs and bacon. ) The coffee unfortunately was disgusting which is a shame as the coffee in the bar from a barista machine was lovely. There was a coffee machine in the restaurant but it was never in use so the coffee came in a pot from the kitchen. The tea was ok
The bedroom was comfortable but a tad chilly and the bathroom (shower room) was fine as there was constant hot water and clean towels were provided daily. There was a tv in the bedroom but the only English channels were the BBC and CNN news channels.
The bar area lacked atmosphere (brightly lit and seating mainly dining tables for 2) so very few guests used it which was a pity as it would be a good place to gather of an evening. There was seating outside the front of the hotel which I imagine would be a good place to sit in summer
The pool was terrible whilst we were there as it was the last week of the season so even on the warm afternoons we couldn’t have used it. The last guests should get the same facilities as the others.
The town is small but lovely and has a number of restaurants and shops. There is a ‘wally trolley ‘ train that takes you around points of interest on the peninsula and the guide is a hoot.
Sorrento is a very easy 30 minute €3.20 return ticket away and can be reached on foot in about an hour (so we were told - we caught the bus).
All in all it was a good value last minute holiday and a perfect place to stay for walkers or if you want to stay somewhere quiet. The management and staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady on reception.

We visited this hotel for the second time in October 2018. The staff are so friendly and likeable. Nothing is a bother to them. They are full of local information. This is a small family run hotel just on the edge of the village. 2 minutes walk and you're at a supermarket and another minute to the village itself. No hills! The food is authentic Italian cooking which was so nice - especially the lasagne - best I've ever had. The rooms are average size, very clean and the beds are comfortable. You can get a bus into Sorrento from around the corner (they run regularly) for under 2 euros. I highly recommend this lovely hotel.
