“Hotel Delle a Palme”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

We have just returned from a Newmarket Holiday to the Delle a Palme the hotel was basic but very clean the area was well in reach of the places we wanted to see the food was very basic breakfast was squash (due to the liberal amounts of water added) tinned fruit ! bread and cornflakes slithers of cheese or ham were provided alternately although other Nationalities had eggs smuggled in ! Dinner was served at 7pm on the dot pre ordered if u were not there it was put in the warming oven! Dinner was ok portion control was minimal still nice to get back and have put on no weight. I can only assume that we were budget guests ! Will not travel with Newmarket again other tour operators offering better deals . The staff at the hotel were exceptional very nice people .

Dear Sir,
is obvious and manifest that your negative comment has been determinate and condiotioned from some mistaken with the organization of your holiday because you sue two times the name of the british company. we do not know what is gone on .We are really sorry but we think it is not fair to comment badly also the hotel.
About the breakfast we can assure you that all the products have a regular sanitary certificate and you could choose for 14 differents offers. About the dinner we Know that the food is a opinion so we do not want to polemize!
You have seen surely our show-case full of letters ( hundreds) , expecially posted in England,
with compliments and thanks -
We also say thanks for the good judgement for our staff and we are sorry if you are not been able to enjoy your holiday but we did as usual all the best for our guests.
Is impossible to make all the guests happy and when they are happy they come back o speak well of us and so we have every year lots of peaple coming in our hotel from U.K:-
And as you can see also good comments on Tripadvisor.
Have serently good time!

I did a week's half board with Newmarket Holidays here mid July 2012.
The staff were lovely, the room adequate, the settings good, the pool area pretty, the weeks cosmopolitan and resident holidaymakers all quite pleasant- the food not good enough! I found myself wondering if there was a competition amongst the local hoteliers to see who could pass off a dinner meal for the lowest possible cost with the bar set at about £1.20 pence on economies of scale.
An uninspiring daily dinner choice of 3, I think I kept choosing the wrong option-deep fried small round things which oozed either some weird tasteless cheese or an equally unpalatable stuffed rice mix,was stated as Neapolitan Delights on the wish list-the pasta starters with enticing romantic Italian names offered volumes of the stuff with just a smidgeon of attaching tomato coloured sauces- this was fine for a carb build up if one was in Olympic training over here, yet did lttle to make your taste buds feel they had arrived at a country noted for its culinary excellence and in the region that gave the world the Pizza.Fortunately there were some very nice restaurants in the area to compensate.
Breakfast was similarly weird and uninspiring.I was impressed that you would get served copious amounts of very dark coloured coffee, all of which was completely tasteless-I accepted this on a daily basis for a while hoping for improvement-alas this was not to be-a nearby fellow traveller offered me a tea bag to add to the pot when I gave up the coffee and changed to tea and this became just palatable. The 2 juice choices were similarly tasteless and there were many guesses as to what was in there-this debate was still unresolved by the time it was time to go- the staff reckoned it was orange juice but we weren't convinced.I stuck to the slivers of ham and cheese and the hard boiled egg that turned up on odd days, then I gave up on these too.
But the staff were lovely, drink prices good value, and it was a quiet, pretty, pleasant place to be.

We have just returned from Italy and the hotel Delle Palme. We feel you get what you pay for here. The hotel is very clean and tidy inside and out.You have a choice of 3 starters and main meals every day all well cooked. If you want lots of extras you need to pay more, for the price we paid it was great.

Room Tip: You need to be at the back .People said you get traffic noise at the front.

Stayed one week as part of package organised by Newmarket Travel. The hotel itself is about 80 years old and the amenities reflect that. The public areas, the restaurant, lounge etc are clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are a bit stark, but our bed was comfortable. We booked a room with a balcony which meant that our room faced the gardens at the back. This had the advantage of not beingaffected by the noisy main road at the front. The staff were unfailingly polite, helpful and friendly, however, the biggest disappointment was the food. This was bland, limited in choice and very obviously supplied with economy in mind.

We have just returned from a week's holiday at this hotel, booked with Newmarket Holidays. I agree with many of the favourable comments written by other visitors but whatever you do don't get a room at the front. The first night we were there I got about two hours sleep in total. The noise of the road is horrendous - motor bikes, scooters and cars till four in the morning. It may not help that there is an all night petrol station just yards from the hotel. For some reason many customers seemed to toot when they got there. After about three or four it quietens down then it all seems to start up again about 6 o' clock.
The staff are lovely - very helpful, for example I found the hard beds very uncomfortable and they supplied me with a mattress topper which helped. They said that the beds are made from fire- retardent foam, which, if like me you suffer from painful joints, is horribly hard.Younger people than me also found them uncomfortable.
A final word on the food - breakfast is plain but adequate, dinner we enjoyed. The food was wholesome Italian food - not fine dining but if you wanted that you could have gone to the Don Alfonso and paid ten times as much! If I had one wish it would have been for more fresh fruit. The shops in Sant Agata were groaning with it so why couldn't we have had something better than water melon or two indifferent oranges and an apple.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a room with balcony. Most are at the back.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel, and are very pleased that we did not book two weeks, the only thing that was reasonable was the staff including the management who were very friendly and helpful.
At first we really did not like the room, very dark , we had paid extra for a balcony, but it was not really a balcony. The room grew on us,
Food, not what you would exspect on holiday, breakfast was the same every day with, fruit salad / cornflakes, followed by toasted bread or crosants with jam or ham or cheese tea or coffee ( Tea not recomended )
Dinner soup or paster, followed by variouse items nothing really nice, and certainly not a lot of anything, then sweets were Melon twice an orange or apple, current bun, and highlight was a lemon tart.
The hotel is within a busy little village and that was on the plus side, maintenance of this hotel is very very low, it really dose need to be actioned the grounds were poor no grass cut or hedges trimed for some time, and they certainly do not belive in painting,
The photos in the hotel broucher are not a true reflection of todays condition. I could go on but we will not be going there or with Newmarket Travel again.

This hotel was well situated in Santa Agata with access to many restaurants and walks. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and all the staff were absolutely delightful. The big problem was the food which rated poor to very poor. We were asked to eat at 19.00hrs which seems incredibly early and we had to order our food in the morning. There were always three choices, however, the food was pretty bland and often cold to luke warm. The worst meal was breakfast, when you were offered a choice of two squash's (no fruit juice) pink or orange, one choice of cereal (looked like a kind of cornflake) and tinned fruit salad. There was a good choice of bread/rolls most of which came out of a packet, although the bread put on the table was fresh and tasty. There was a choice of either meat or cheese each day. We ended up buying in fruit juice and fresh fruit for breakfast and then from mid week ate out.
