We stayed at Tigh Cathaine our first night in Ireland. It is a very warm and inviting cottage. Marie was very welcoming. She prepared a wonderful full Irish breakfast. The room was very pretty all done up in white. All the toiletries are provided and there is a hair dryer provided. We enjoyed our visit and would stay again

Great place. Beautiful crockery. Marie gives a lovely welcome, loads of good stories, very clean, quality breakfast, but Jim is under used. Wheel him out, definitely worth more than a back room kitchen worker !! We will be back.

This was our first night in Ireland and we could not have been more pleased with this lovely B&B. It was truely an Irish cottage with pristine white linens, a delightful sitting room and you felt like you were visiting relatives that you liked. :) I highly recommend this B&B.

it is not easy to find, using a GPS. but calling Marie on the phone and describing where we were, she was able to get us there in no time.
rooms are very comfortable. breakfast is home cooked by Marie and she has alot too offer for food, great conversation, cold remedies, and general knowledge of Ireland.
I will stay there again when I am in Trim and would highly recommend it for the quality, price and location and service.

Tigh Cathain was our last B & B while on the road in Ireland. It is a bit of a challenge to find. Our GPS became disoriented, trying to locate the B&B just off the road, but signage beat technology and we arrived safely. We stayed in Marie's delightful front room, second floor, with a bath the size of a nice small room. It was clean and comfortable. Marie was gracious enough to provide a very early breakfast to allow us to drop the car off at the Dublin airport with time to spare. The highpoint of the breakfast was astonishingly good fruit and soda bread. We would stay again without hesitation.

Tigh Cathain B&B—Trim
The name translates from Irish as “house when,” that must have significance for the Irish. In a rural setting on the edge of Trim, just a five-minute drive to the town center, the B&B managed by Marie Keane has rooms on two floors that are clean, comfortable and profusely decorated in traditional motif. The room sizes vary, as do the accompanying bathrooms which are all fully provisioned with complementary toiletries. Voices of guests in the adjacent room were sufficiently muffled to be not distracting.
Breakfast was a delight and included Marie’s freshly-baked scones and homemade jams along with the traditional full Irish breakfast. She will entertain you with stories of how the 1994 filming in Trim of the movie "Braveheart" was the motivation for her to open her B&B.
As with most B&B’s in Ireland, there is no air-conditioning and the wi-fi is free, however credit cards are NOT accepted and payment is in cash. There is ample free parking in the courtyard fronting the home.

Our family stayed 2 nights at the Tigh Cathain and had a wonderful time. The location is about a 20 minute walk to Castle Trim and the centre of town. The breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of home made goods. We would definitely stay here again.
