stayed here for golf weekend, got a good deal with hotel for golf at headfort on 2 days, staff were excellent from start to finish, going out of their way to make sure you were comfortable, being friendly and interested in you, makes a change from the big chains! only one downside- the nite club next door - or rather the late nite revellers going home at 3am in morning. best rooms for a quieter nite are the ones at the back lookin over the car park and side entry, but all in all a lovely time was had by all, breakfast was good and the evening meal was delicious and served out promptly to a large number in our own private dining room, would recommend to anyone lookin for genuine irish hospitality and service, thanks

Room Tip: quieter rooms are at the back of hotel, at the side where the entry goes out to the car park

Hotel with bar & restaurant in the middle of Kells. Good food. Rooms are ok, nothing special. Well priced and plenty of on street parking.

We stayed at the Headfort due to attending a family wedding close by. The coach from the airport literally drops you off outside, which was handy as we caught a rather late flight from London. As soon as you see the Headfort, you are greeted by a beautiful building (lit up when we got there). Once inside, it gets even better. Reception, bars, restaurant..all stunning. Comfy chairs, wood panelling, very tasteful.
Every member of staff we encountered couldnt do enough for you, even down to a very busy member of the bar staff (MARTINA) doing my tie for me! A fantastic range of beers are on draught,of which I mailnly stuck to the Guinness. Breakfast is served in a room next to the bar,and is available most of the morning. Full Irish (inc. white pudding) or various continental options are offered. Very good, if a little greasy.
Our room was a good size, with a double and a single bed. Comfortable bed and pillows, what more can you ask? Tea & coffee, iron/ironing board, flat screen tv (not many channels),desk, chair, table, wardrobe. The bathroom was fine, apart from the day we were leaving when the water supply stopped...and stayed off for several hours. However, we were allowed a late check out so we could have a shower before leaving.
I had a wonderful time here (and the wedding a few miles away was FANTASTIC!), and I will definetly stay here agan when in the area.

Room Tip: A room at the front will give you a pleasant view along the street. A room at the back will be quiet...

My wife and I arrived on Sat afternoon and our golf society had arranged breakfast up to 11.30am but even when we arrived we were given soup and sandwiches and as I was going golfing it was much appreciated. Our Society The Monks Golf Society had a dinner arranged for that night and all 50 of us agreed it was excellent served by lovely staff. A great night was had in the lounge that night. After breakfast in the morning the Golfers went and played this time the old course at Headfort a very friendly place. Sun night we dined at the Hotel and later after golf presentation we enjoyed a great night in the Lounge. After breakfast on Mon morning all agreed we would be returning to the Headfort Arrms and Golf Courses

Rang them in the afternoon so not sure if we got a special deal but paid 69€ for Bed and Breakfast. Rooms were very good although may be hot on a rare hot summer night. Great secure parking, variety of bars and restaurants and only about 20 minutes to Newgrange. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Very good breakfast with variety, quantity and quality all of a high standard. A great place to stay

Attended my son's wedding at this hotel last weekend (1st June 2012). Would highly recommend it. Staff very professional, friendly and helpful and they went to great lengths to make the day as enjoyable as possible for everyone. Food and service great. Lovely garden area for photos or just to get away for a break from the action . Lots of the wedding guests stayed in the hotel and one group in particular said they hadn't been as impressed for a long time as they were with the food they got in ther hotel restaurant.

Room Tip: Didn't stay overnight - attended wedding.
