Like many other reviews on here, we had a mixed experience at this hotel.

The good bits were the fantastic views, good selection at breakfast, great pool area, some friendly staff (Mohammed / cocktail waiter!), some stylish decor in our room and public areas.

The main disappointment was the room allocation. As others have found they appear to have no clue who’s allocated to what room. We emailed and rung twice before our arrival to confirm our booking and got patchy at best responses. They did not respond to either email. When we checked in we were told our sea view room had plumbing issues (they either have a lot of these or have ready made excuses!). We instead got a newly decorated garden view suite on the basement floor. It was a massive room with great shower but it had no view and there were signs of mould.

They did offer us a sea view room the next day but we decided not to phaff moving rooms as we had made plans already that day.

Overall I’d say it’s pot luck if you have a good stay here, especially relative to the price!

Stayed here for a week for family wedding and booked 2 rooms, first room was fine, second one was not which took 4 days to sort out hence the score of 3 above.
Good bits
Lovely hotel, very plush public areas
Pool area excellent with comfy sunbeds
Very clean.
Staff very friendly especially Mohammed who helps at breakfast.
Good location for local beaches and main strip.
Breakfast fairly good (excellent local bread) but would have preferred more options available for people like myself who eat later.
Cocktail waiter excellent as were his cocktails (happy hour from 6 to 8)

Not so good bits
The hotels seems to play a game of Russian Roulette with regards to what room you are allocated and there is a massive difference in quality between them even on the same grade.
Be aware if you book an inland room you will effectively be in a basement room.
Even if you book a superior seaview room you could end up on the ground floor with a very restricted view of the sea and some rooms see little or no sun.
We had 4 changes of neighbours in our stay as they were not satisfied with the room given to them for varying reasons including dampness, mould and seaview.
Also be aware that at the beginning of the season the ground floor rooms are still damp from the winter and have mould on some fittings plus a damp musty smell. Beds felt damp and required changing.
Our room had the air con set at 21 digs which we were told could not be changed, other rooms were not, seems strange.
Breakfast area does get very crowded at times with guests bumping into each other as selection area is a narrow walkway with only one toaster tucked in the corner.
Angela the hotel manager is a very formidable lady and it took a lot of negotiation to get our second room issue resolved but she upgraded us to an excellent room and we were very happy with the result.
I would stay here again and recommend to others but just be aware of the points i have raised above.

Room tip: book sea view with balcony

From the moment we arrived we loved everything about the place. Angela and her staff did their utmost to give us the relaxing and luxurious holiday we longed for. The hotel is located a one minute walk from the lovely and calm Paliostafida beach and seven minutes from the more developed Makris Gialos beach - in our opinion two of the island’s best beaches. Lassi’s main road with its restaurants, bars and supermarkets is a nice eight minute walk away. Argostoli is a 25 minutes walk or 6 Euro taxi ride away. We stayed in the White suite which probably was the best hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. We especially liked the panorama sea view and the terrace, the location right over the bar so we could lie in bed in the afternoon and listen to the pleasant lounge music, and the separate shower with large window towards the sea. The reception, the lounge bar, breakfast room and pool area are all of high class. I recommend renting a car for a couple of days to really experience what the beautiful island has to offer: lazy seaside village Assos, picturesque Myrtos Beach, scenic roads, upscale Fiskardo, and lush Antisamos beach. Thalassa is an experience we’ll never forget!

This is a wonderful hotel where the staff can't do enough for you. The staff are led by the general manager, Angela, who sets the standard. We stayed last year and the hotel has been improved. It is obvious that money has been invested and the rooms have been upgraded and further facilities are in progress (gym and possibly a new pool). The outdoor dining room was due to open just as we left!

The "old" hotel has now taken over what were the self catering apartments that share the site. Hopefully this won't upset the equilibrium of this boutique hotel.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel, especially to couples.

Room tip: Ask for an upgrade when you arrive!

We stayed here last Sept and loved the hotel and island so much we couldn't wait to come back again. When there last week they were just finishing the pool bar which looked great it opened on Friday. Very handy right next to the pool. There are a mixture of lovely rooms ours had just been refurbished and if you are looking for a luxury treat look no further it was gorgeous. There is a lovely breakfast terrace with amazing sea & mountain views you can either sit inside or out. Lots to choose from for breakfast, the staff are very professional making sure everything is tidied away ready for the next people to use the space. You can also order lunches here later in the day or sit in the open cocktail bar as well. There is a lovely toilet behind reception to use which I have never seen untidy at all it has luxury hand soaps to use etc. But our absolute favourite is the cocktail bar which we have spent many an evening in enjoying happy hour 6-8 before wandering into Lassi for dinner then calling in on way back for a nightcap before bed, lovely service from Marios the amazing cocktail guy. Thalassa is easy walking distance to main st Lassi and a couple of beaches including the lovely Makrios Gialos beach. Thanks for a great holiday guys we will definetly return

Room tip: Our room was 611 if you fancy a bit of luxury
