We booked this hotel for the second week of September and were not disappointed in any way.

On arrival mid afternoon we were given a complimentary glass of wine and a selection of local snacks to enjoy whilst we were being checked in.

The rooms are immaculate and cleaned everyday. Our view was stunning from our sun terrace. The breakfast room was beautiful and provided a lovely morning buffet offering a variety of fresh and lovely food.

The pool was lovely and clean and it was never too busy which was lovely too.

The strip of tavernas are a short walk away and Butlers House is a MUST!

When the time came to check out :-( Angela ordered us a taxi whilst we relaxed in the stunning lobby area.

We liked the fact the hotel only had a small team of staff, they were able to provide a far friendlier service.

Thank you for making our holiday so perfect.

A very enjoyable holiday at the Thalassa first week of September 2012, highlights to assist others thinking of staying there. The hotel is run by a small team of very friendly and efficient young ladies, Maid service was very friendly & efficient. They seemed to try to service the rooms when they knew you were out, even if only at breakfast. All rooms are reached by flights of steps but as already reported there is no assistance with carrying cases etc. "Ground floor" is actually half below ground level with very restricted views. Our room was on the 1st floor with absolutely stunning views over the bay. A small kitchennet included a sink, fridge, kettle, hotplate (1 medium size saucepan) and basic crockery & cutlery, BUT - no tin opener, bottle opener or corkscrew! You need a good corkscrew for the local wine, it's so young the corks are bone dry & break very easily! 1st & 2nd floors with the sea views are stunning! NOT recommended for anybody with mobility problems though. Shallow end of the pool is unmarked and about 3 feet deep and slopes fairly sharply to about 10feet, NOT recommended for young children! Their is also a 2nd pool a few feet away for the Silo Hotel which I didn't go into but also seems fairly deep for young children. The pool bar is actually run by the SIlo hotel and serves a range of snacks & drinks, all hot meals are listed with chips! This seems to be the norm in most of Kefalonia. But if you prefer, ask for salad instead and you'll have no problems getting it. Breakfast at the Thalassa was reasonable, yes I've had bigger & better breakfast buffets but usually at bigger and more expensive hotels. Breakfast officially starts at 8:30, a bit late if you have an excursion booked, but coffee, juice & cold foods are laid out well before this, hot food is about 8:30 though. Possibly because of this fairly late start to breakfast it quickly gets a bit crowded around the buffet, perhaps moving just the coffee / tea point elsewhere in the room would free up space to spread the actual food out? Tv was bolted high up in the corner of the room, really only watchable when layin in bed! Also, only english language channel we found was CNN - a bit boring and repetitive after a couple of hours! Our room only had a (very good) shower, not a full bath which we had sort of expected. Unusually absolutely no information in the room about the hotel and any other services available. I suspect that if requested picnic lunches or a bottle of wine could be provided but we never asked. (Also - never saw any of the complimentary wine mentioned!) The pool bar drinks were a bit pricey and the small shop at the rear of the bar very limited and expensive. For nearest shops go down the steps behind the pool, turn right and after a couple of hundred yards take the 1st left just after the wooden bungalow with the number 33 on the front. For buses into the town or to reach central Lassi, leave the hotel at the front and follow the road into Lassi, the bus stop is just across the road slightly to the right, fare was 1.50.each way, but only runs every couple of hours! Beach we used was Makris Gialos, very good, sea very salty! If you like loud Greek music turn left at the bottom of the steps on the beach and go near the snack bar, if not - DON'T! Turn right or stay near the steps.

Room Tip: Definitely need a sea view, on first or 2nd floor, also stipulate a full bath unless you only want a shower.

Excellent stay in Hotel Thalassa in Lassi . Charming little hotel placed in a stunning location – wonderful, dream like view.
In addition, staff was extremely helpful ( especially Leni at the Reception ) and also the maids, always efficient and smiling. Even the lady director could find time and availability for the clients’ needs.Breakfast very good, nice beaches and cheerful center nearby .
We even intend to come next year and bring others too .Thanks everyone for a lovely holiday !

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room - it is worth the money - one splendid bay is waiting for you !

We arrived late in the evening did not have an easy time locating the hotel because it is Not on the main strip. There was no one to assist us with our bags. Are room was located in the basement with limited view. The bathroom was older and was nothing like the pictures on the Internet. Sadly we needed to depart the next morning because our room was infested with cockroaches. Not a pretty sight. The staff, Angela was very unprofessional. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: Stay away from the basement rooms!

Very clean, terrific placement and view, warm and friendly smiles of the personal, big rooms, delicious breakfast everyday with fresh fruits and plenty other dishes from "mama's kefalonian kitchen" and best beaches like "Paliostafida and Makrys Gialos" only 2-5 minutes away on foot!!
We had realy good holidays! Thank you all!!! Hope to see you next year again!
