We stayed in the Lorenzo hotel for 2 weeks and have just got back. We had a brilliant time, the hotel staff were lovely and friendly as were the guests. The weather was nice and hot although the water sports had finished as it was nearing the end of the season. The rooms were basic but were good enough for a base. The breakfast has been a big debate on here but we wasnt disappointed. There were enough places to eat at night too.
We did a couple of coach trips and had Mel as our guide who was brilliant, she really knew her stuff and kept you interested all the time.
we would definitely return as we loved the island and the hotel. the only disappointing thing was we had to come back to this horrible, miserable place!!!!

We returned to the Lorenzo after 3 years.

We dont usually go back anywhere as there are lots of places yet to see.

However we reccomended it to someone last year and they loved it. This made us book again and we thouroghly enjoyed our stay again.

A well placed hotel in the centre of Lassi. The staff were very friendly and the rooms very clean a super pool area in well tended grounds.

We just got back from a week at the Lorenzo Hotel and had a great time. The first impression is that the hotel looks a bit dated but although it may not look like the most modern place in town it is clean and tidy. The staff are all friendly and the rooms are cleaned to a good standard.

The breakfast can seem a bit odd as you have to pick up your tray which has a few slices of bread, some butter, some jam and tea or coffee on it. You then need to find a table and choose the other items from the main table and these could be eggs, greek yoghurt with honey, cheese, ham etc. It is not the most varied breakfast but it is filling and the food is all fresh. Once you have finished your breakfast you need to put everything back on the tray and take it back to the bar!

The pool area is good and the snacks from the pool bar are reasonably priced and filling.

The resort itself isn't anything special. It is purpose built so has no real charm but if you want to see some real Greek village life just hire a car (CBR were very good) and take a drive to the other side of the Island. Agia Efemia was beautiful and the Mellisani cave is definitely worth a visit.

There are a few good restaurants in town, we especially liked Butlers House and the bar next door, So Simple. The staff in both were very friendly and professional. They had a mixture of traditional Greek food and the standard pizza/pasta which is great for me as I am a vegetarian!

To sum this place up, the hotel looks a bit dated but is a great place to stay with good staff and is in a good location. Everything you could want for a cheap week or two in the sun.

We have just returned from Kafalonia and a weeks stay at the Lorenzo in Lassi. The holiday was very enjoyable and relaxing and the hotel was in a perfect position. If you have read the other reviews then I will just be repeating alot of what has been said before - clean, staff friendly, pool very good (but there were often no sunbeds left because of people putting towels down and those that were left were very hard wooden ones) and you can lounge in deckchairs under the olive trees if you want shade. The long beach is nearby and is beautiful as an alternative.

Re the breakfast debate - this has got to be the best selection that we have had in any greek hotel of this standard with fresh watermelon, boiled eggs, cheese and a toaster too! if its not what you are looking for then you can get a full english up the road very cheaply from 9am... Also, hotel had sky sports and news which I have never had before in Greece.

The hotel tried to provide entertainment and on Friday and Saturday nights the music was blarring until 12.30 -1amish, so if you are an early bird take ear plugs! There is a large number of tavernas and eateries to choose from nearby and we found that everyone had different experiences, so it is best to make up your own mind but I would say that we never had a bad meal anywhere and the standard is generally good. We liked Il gabbiano and the staff were very friendly and the food excellent -also they did the best cocktail we had all week!

Finally, regarding the trips - definitely go on the Island bus tour - it was a great day out and a fantastic way of seeing the island without hiring a car.

Recently returned from the Lorenzo. Friendly, traditional hotel with character. Our room, shower room and balcony small but adequately furnished and very clean. It could be a tad dark in there in the evening as the lighting wasn't the best and we only had a small patio door and no window. Bedding, towels spotless and the maids were in there cleaning every morning, although they started very early so it could disturb you if you wanted a lie-in and breakfast later although maybe it was louder for us as our room was right by where the maids kept their equipment. We had a phone in the room, hairdyer, TV with limited channels and paid for air-con and safe. Would have liked tea making facilties and maybe to have been able to rent a small fridge although there was a fridge in the foyer where you could store water. The breakfast basic as expected but sometimes ran out and you were left with limited choice but there was always plenty of toast and beverages. The hotel not overly busy which was great for the pool, where there was a good pool area with a bar selling snacks and plenty of loungers etc. Never saw the pool very busy so very relaxing. Inside were pool tables and table tennis and a small comfortable restaurant/lounge with Sky TV and small lounge bar which was quiet most nights. The hotel had a lovely pretty area outside the foyer where you could enjoy a tipple sitting on the soft furnishings, great place to get chatting to other guests and get to know the hotels two friendly cats. A comfortable hotel for couples and families with five minutes walk to the main street with all the great restauraunts, a few shops, car hire and just a short stroll down the hill to the small, clean quiet beach with beach bar. If you want a hotel that's not overly busy but friendly and a great base for site seeing then this would be for you. Talked to many other guests and they seemed to have the same opinions as us the good and the bad, but all in all not a bad hotel on the whole.
