“Great family holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2013

Just returned from 11 days at the Lorenzo. We have been to Lassi 5 times before and chose the Lorenzo for the position of the hotel (and booked early and got bargain price !). The hotel is stuck in the 70's, but was perfectly adequate for us. The room was spotlessly cleaned everyday and the staff were all lovely and helpful. Our kids loved collecting the breakfast trays every morning and we sat out either by the pool or on the front terrace. The pool area was great and probably has one of the largest pools in Lassi. The only downside to the pool is that all neighbouring apts without pools tell their guests to use the Lorenzo. We always managed to get sunbeds without a problem, but in busy times I think the hotel guests should have priority.
Overall a great holiday, and who knows maybe we will stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms are allocated to tour operators , so even if you request a room, you prob wont get one !!

I recently stayed at Lorenzo for a week. We found the hotel was extremely basic and very dated. There is a lot that needed doing. I wouldn't go back. However, it was very cheap. So I got what I paid for. The breakfast was ok and the location was good. They keep the grounds very nice and the pool area looks good.

The worst bit was that the shower room smelt awful ! It really put us off and they didn't do anything. Also you can literally hear everything else going on in the hotel, I didn't have a good night sleep for the whole week.

Just returned from 10 nights B&B at The Lorenzo hotel Lassi Kefalonia.
We booked a Fiesta from Pefanis car hire for the duration, collected and returned to the airport for a great, 185 euros, all inc of damage waivers etc. Very good value for money.
The Lorenzo is a small budget priced hotel, the sort that is very common in the Greek islands. Before we went we tried the email route requesting an upper pool view room if possible. Received a very nice reply saying they would do what they could. When we got there, were told that, no sorry they couldn't,as all the best view rooms were previously booked by a tour operator. Thats fair enough if true, so don't bother trying that route.
The rooms are average sized, but the bathrooms are tiny.if you're an average sorta bloke, you're gonna struggle in the shower as it is so small and the taps stick out about 9 inches further reducing the available room.Rooms cleaned very well every day.
Breakfast is the same every morning. Cornflakes(sorta) nice chunky doorstep bread/toast, jams, cold boiled eggs, peaches and yoghurt, ham.cheese, and cake. Tea or coffee pot supplied with each tray, to be taken in restaurant or rooms, your choice. pool area very nice with a good view of estuary. Now this bit seemed very strange to me. The best part was the pool side bar, with a great view. this they shut at 630, roping of the area, thus depriving guests of anywhere at the back of the hotel to have a drink. the only place being inside, or at front of hotel viewing the road.Strange decision as it forces all guests to go off out to drink, leaving their bar empty. We had a couple of issues with the room, toilet door very hard to open once inside, and also toilet not flushing. Both were repaired on the same day of reporting.
Lassi as a resort seem to have missed a bit of a trick as there is hardly anywhere to sit to have a meal or a drink with a view of the sea. Nearly all bars face the road, which is a bit dull tbh. The exception is the Logos Grand view bar. this little gem is stuck on the hillside at the back of the high street, about 200 metres up a small road. IT IS BRILLIANT. An uphill stroll granted , but even the crazy paved path is entertaining, with all a manner of drink bottles sunk into the concrete. The view from the viewing platform decking was spectacular, and the sunsets great,. The music is a mixture of traditional Greek and oldies from 70s-90s. The place is run by Spiros and his English wife Michelle, who were of course, very friendly. Each customer is rewarded with home made nibbles, and a free shot, on paying the bill. This place is criminally underused as people don't seem to realise it is there, although Spiros put up a huge neon BAR sign this week, which should raise the profile a bit.Food wise the Retseta restaurant next door to the hotel gives huge portions, and is very good value for money.
The costa costa beach a ten minute walk away is very good. 2 sun beds table and brolly for 6 euros for the day. Clean toilets and a reasonably priced beach shop/bar for refreshments.Unfortunately when we went the beach had shrunk to half its normal size, because of the foul weather the previous week washing a load of sand away, however we were assured that when the wind changes and the tides blow a different way the beach will be restored to its original splendour. Overall an enjoyable holiday on a beautiful island, no real complaints.

We visited early May 2013, in fact we were on the first Monarch charter of the season. We actually stayed in the Lorenzo apartments abot 50 yards from the main hotel. The apartment was simply a normal hotel size room with a small sink and 2 ringed hob plus kettle. The information described it as one of the original buildings of Lassi and it showed! Very tired looking and small it could best be descibed as adequate. One of 3 ground floor rooms, we were next to the garage/workshop and a fair amount of morning noise with work being done to get the property ready for the season. The hotel facilities were good, nice bar and helpful staff. The pool area looked lovely with impressive views of the bay. We got what we paid for but I have stayed in much better and roomier acccommodation for less. Lassi however is a lovely resort and Kefalonia a beautiful island. beware however in early season the buses dont run into Argostoli, the walk is long and tiring and taxi fares can mount up..

Room Tip: Limited choice as a couple- just one of three double rooms. Assume family rooms on the higher floors

Ok the Hotel rooms are a bit long in the tooth but the staff are absolutely fantastic never been looked after so well, nothing is too much trouble. Remember this is a Greek Hotel so you get a Greek breakfast.

Pool area is great and it is so so clean

Room Tip: rooms facing the pool give you the evening sunshine & are not facing the road

Stayed here in June 2012, we had the smallest room we have ever had the privilege to stay in. To compensate we had the largest balcony, probably bigger than the room! Shower room was also very small, breakfast was what you would expect but you had the benefit of taking it up to your room or balcony if you so wished. Pool area was ok, on the downside our room was next to the noisiest couple in the hotel who chose to constantly argue and move furniture around in the middle of the night. Would not return here, loved Lassi but would definitely look elsewhere for accommodation.

Stayed here some years ago nice location and great pool area but rooms very basic. Handy for beaches and shops and restuants. Breakfast a lot to be desired cake egg meat!!!!!! From other reviews I dont think its changed much over the years.
