It was our first time in Kefalonia and we found this hotel through Trip Advisor.
Location= GREAT!. Kefalonia is a big island therefore this hotel gave us the opportunity to travel around the island. ( We rented a car). It is very close to a beach as well. Lassi is very touristic. However we liked Makris Yialos beach which is 2 min by car. (The most organised beach on the island). 2 min by car to Argostoli.
Cleanliness, Rooms= Very clean, spacious room, great views, brand new, recently renovated. We found really useful the fridge in the room. We did not find the room small as previous reviews say. Anyway you do not want to spend time in the room, Kefalonia is so beautiful.
Value= We booked directly with the hotel, and it was really value for money. Breakfast was really good compared to the average 3 star Greek hotel.
Sleep Quality= Beds were comfortable and sheets were very clean.
Service: We never eaten at the hotel.
In Argostoli we had pizza at La Strada. We had fresh fish at Thalassolikos, which is outside Argostoli. (recommended by locals).
If I go back to Kefalonia I will defenetely return to this hotel.
The only negative is that the onwer yells at people all the time at the reception.

The hotel is in a great location, a few hundred metres from some amazing beaches, the main restaurant/bar lined strip of Lassi, and a 20 minute walk ( or 5-6 Euros in cab) from the capital of Argostoli (uphill for the first 5 minutes so possibly not for the elderly, but an amazing view on the way). It's also very clean, and on arrival, the staff and manager were very welcoming. However, the aircon packed in after the second day and as we were in a mini Greek heatwave things got very uncomfortable. One of the night staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, giving the shake of head and shrug to any problem we had. The otherwise very friendly manager, who I had overheard arguing with a rep and with guests on 2 other occasions doesn't handle complaints very well at all. He goes from mild discussion to shouting within about 4 seconds, but stand your ground and you might get somewhere - I suspect he's not really angry, he's just a passionate and sensitive man. That said, there a few other members of staff who were fantastic, friendly, helpful and who, I suspect, are the reason that people still visit this otherwise lovely hotel. A couple of bits of advice, if you are going on a package holiday, you can book all the tours offered by them for half the price from the 3-4 tour companies on the Lassi street. These are the same tours. Also, if you can, get a car. The island is bigger than it looks.

The manager in this hotel is very unfriendly and rude. We stayed there for a week and he did not talk to us once. Some of the staff were friendly but a women behind the bar always seemed to give the wrong emount of change and gave us less back than we were supposed to get. The hotel is in a good location and overlooks the sea. The town is great and Argostoli is a short while away. The rooms were the most disapointing. We had self catering and the kitchen was in a two door wardrobe that you opened. It was tiny and had a little cooker a microwave high up and 1 tiny sink. You got 1 knife and 1 fork and dirty plates. The beds were the hardest thing i have ever slept in, and got bad neck aches from it. The bathrooms were also very small and have the smallest shower ever. being a size 8 and skinny and i strugled to fit in it. The shower curtain sticks to you and the water leaks out as the base of the shower is too low, the shower head was also broke so we had to hold it. On the balcony we had a view of a tree which was dissapointing, and was so small, you could barely fit 2 people on it. I would go back to lassi but i would never go back to this hotel again, it was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in and the manager of the hotel comes across as a money grabber and doesnt evan communicate with the people at his hotel. There was no entertainment at this hotel and nothing like a pool table. All the bar offered was toasties, which was a bit of a change to the other hotels i have stayed in offerered alot more. This hotel is very dissapointing and wouldnt recommened it.

Booked through thompson as they guaranteed a double room. Don't bother. because you get what you are given and we were unlucky enough to be given a ground floor twin with so much folage overgrowing the balcony that you were bitten to pieces trying to see through to your sea view!
When we asked for the double we had paid extra for, the manage was very rude.
Don't ask your rep to help because he refuses to communicate with them.
The hotel was clean but anything at breakfast that was supposed to be hot, i.e. eggs, was always cold. Tea, milk etc in rooms were not replenished. Thought 6 Euros a day for air conditioning was a bit steep and you had to pay 15 Euros a week to open a fridge that was permanently on anyway.
It's a real shame because if you get a 2nd or 3rd floor roomand the owner sells out to a more affable chap, it would be a good place to stay in a good location.

We stayed at the Lassi Hotel for 1 week in July. I'll start with the positives of the holiday. Lassi is great, on the quiet side but has plenty of bars and restaurants. Argostolli, the capital is near if you want something more lively. We caught a taxi into town as it was too hot to walk there, this cost 6 euro each way. We found a lovely restaurant near to the hotel called 'Sto Psito', the staff are very friendly and the home cooked greek food is fab, it has an amazing view overlooking a small beach (called Kalamai, I think). The restaurant and beach are well worth a visit. Argostolli has plenty of coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops. We had a very good meal in a lovely italian called 'La Gondolla' situated in the square. My daughter was happy as we found several internet cafe's in Argostolli and 1 in Lassi.
Now for the negatives!!
The manager was unhelpful and rude and I got the impression he doesnt like his guests much - think he's in the wrong business!! When we were shown to our room, I thought there was a mistake. We opted for self catering, but all that was available was a small sink, half a hob and fridge. This was all contained within a wardrobe! When we opened the doors to the 'wordrobe/kitchen' I could not belive it. There was no worktop area to prepare any food and no table in the room to eat. I was disgusted. I have stayed in many self catering apartments/hotels and this was the worst I have ever seen. When we asked to be moved, the manager abrubtly said no and pointed us back to our rooms. When I complained to the Thomson rep, she said she didn't want to approach the managaer as she had complained to him a few weeks previously and his response was - "if you complain again I will put all your Thomson guests in the worsts rooms!" The rep visited our room upon our request and agreed that the self catering facilities were poor, but she did little to help us. Something we will be following up with Thomson directly as we had a few other issues with the rep, such as telling us the wrong pick up point for a trip! As a result we waited an hour in the wrong place and missed the trip. To make matters worse we could not get in touch with her for a day and spent the whole morning talking to the 24hr Thomson hotline for a refund, when she did visit us (because I demanded) she was unapologetic. The shower was very poor, on 2 occasions we had to take cold showers, when we complained the staff said all the hot water had been used up (this was 6pm)!! Another night the shower did not work and we had to wait for someone to come to fix it. We asked for a pool/sea view on booking, but we did not have this, instead we had a giant tree which shaded our room. The balcony was a joke, the 3 of us could not fit out there at the same time, it was one at a time job!! Don't get me wrong we like to dine out, but we usually make some sandwiches for lunch and eat out in the evening but as a result of the lack of space, worktop or table, cutting the bread on the bed was an experience I never want to repeat!!!
Despite the poor room, this did not spoil the whole holiday and I would recommend Lassi, but NOT this hotel. There were other instances were the manager was very rude, but I feel I've said enough.

We stayed at the Lassi Hotel for a week in June and we absolutely loved it. As soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted and told that we had been allocated a special room as we had booked in advance (we booked in Feb). We were really pleased with the room; it was clean, not too small and had a fabulous sea view.

The hotel location is perfect - just a couple of minute's walk to the main road where the tavernas are. We particularly liked Veronica's (above a jewellers), which served delicious food, the service was very good, and it was the best value in Lassi. We also particularly liked Eden's for a pre-dinner cocktail in the garden!

We would definitely recommend the Lassi Hotel to anyone coming to Kefalonia, it was clean, in an ideal location, and with good customer service. We couldn't have asked for more - the Lassi Hotel was much better then some more expensive hotels we have stayed in. (Also, unlike in other Greek hotels we have experienced, we had a good shower with plenty of hot water!!)

(ps Hi to Steve & Sandra if you're reading this!!)

Went to Kefalonia on 9th June 2010 for a week with my girlfriend. We had a great week and The Lassi Hotel was all that we had hoped. On arrival, we were warmly greeted by the manager who took our suitcases and showed us to the 2nd floor room which had a partial sea view and view of the mountains. Room was a good size and spotlessly clean, shower was good. The pool is fantastic and not busy with lots of spare loungers. Also, because it is quiet, no one rushes out in the morning to put their towel on the beds so everything is very relaxed. Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 9.30am and again, it was reasonably quiet for this. It consisted of cereals, cooked beakfast, fruit, pastries, yoghurt, toast, juices, tea and coffee and was nice.
Weather was gorgeous, between 30' - 35'C every day. The main beach is about a 10-15 minute walk and it really is Lassi's selling point and a brilliant beach. The water is crystal clear and the beach is one of the best we have seen (apart from Formentera in Ibiza!). The cost for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella is 6 Euro's and if you want a bigger umbrella and comfier chairs, 8E but we went for a four poster bed on the beach!! 15 Euro's but worth every penny! The beach was not busy at all and it has got a lovely bar and cafe that is reasonably priced. If you can't be bothered to leave your lounger, a waitress comes round regularly to take your order.
Restaurants - Ok, my one only whinge from the holiday is one restaurant we visited on the first night - Butler's House. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!! The food looked and tasted horrendous and because it was out first night, we were worried that all restaurants were going to be like this, however these worries were unfounded.
There are 2 great restaurants that I would gladly recommend to anyone. Veronica's in Lassi serves lovely food and the service is great and they are very friendly. La Gondala in the main square in Argostoli is also a nice Itialian restaurant with excellent food and service. Argostoli is particularly good on weekend nights with a vibrant atmosphere, I would say it is definetely worth a visit. A ferry trip over to Lixouri from Argostoli is also a nice day out. All in all, a nice place and Lassi Hotel is a good base to stay.
