We stayed at these lovely apartments from the 1st-15th June. Having stayed in many self catering apartments all over Greece especially Kefalonia, these are by far the best we've stayed in.
The rooms were immaculately clean as the maid came in every day. In fact the whole complex which is tucked away behind their taverna was spotless.
Our room was number 3 which was second floor directly facing the pool and had the sun on it from late afternoon, perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or a beer after a day by the pool or on the beach.
We had a room safe at no charge and a huge fan at no charge. Didn't need AC so cant tell you the price. There was a microwave, toaster, two ring cooker, cafetiere,tv and dvd player.Eveything you would need for a self catering holiday.
The pool was superb albeit not very deep but great for cooling off. This was also cleaned every morning.
The owners are also on site should you encounter any problems.
If you are looking for a complete chill and unwind we would highly recommend these apartments.
We are a couple in our late forties and having spent two weeks here, didn't see many younger than ourselves.
As for eating out ,our favourite tavernas were Retseto and Trata which are 100 metres up the main Lassi road.
Places to see if you wish to hire a car, Myrtos beach is a spectacular site from above and Assos is a quaint colourful little village.
Absolutely top marks to the owners Hara and Takis as they have got these apartments just perfect. Thank you for an amazing two weeks and see you next year. Mandy & Chris :)

Very clean and well kept apartments , secluded from the very near and convenient lassi strip. Maid service was exceptional. no socket for the kettle had to put it on the shelf by the TV( above the bed sofa) could be very dangerous if you had small children. We had a lovely and mostly un overlooked balcony. Pool was cold but lots of sun beds around. New small studios were just being finished that over looked a nice garden area and it appeared that a jacuzzi was been renovated which would be a great addition. All in all highly recommended apartments although Lassi was just a touch to quite for us

Room Tip: If you have small children I think the ground floor apartments would be best . The 2 bedroom apartme...

Our 2nd trip back to Lassi, Kefalonia and this year we stayed at the San Lorenzo Residence which is a different location to the San Lorenzo Village (where we stayed last year), although they are owned / operated by the same company, so guests can freely use the facilities at either location.

Location : The San Lorenzo Residence is located behind the San Lorenzo restaurant, so the hotel buildings / rooms are around 50m or so from the main road through Lassi. Despite this we weren't disturbed by any road noise, so this wasn't a problem at all. We also had a balcony with a lovely view over the sea.

The San Lorenzo Village is around the corner and up a small hill from the San Lorenzo Residence and so it's well away from the main road, and it has the better (i.e. amazing) view out over the sea, which is great for sundowner cocktails at the pool bar during happy hour! The Village is also a slightly longer walk down the hill to the beaches and tavernas, and you have that same hill to walk back up again at the end of the night, but it's nothing too major or arduos.

Pool : Both locations have pools with sunbeds etc, although the Village has a larger pool than the Residence.

Beaches : The beaches at Lassi are excellent, with lovely soft golden sand and the beach taverna at Makris Gialos beach (just a few minutes walk from either the Village or Residence) has amazing views over the sea, delicious greek food and cheap local wine.

Internet : The Village has a pool bar with free wifi internet which we could also receive from our room. The Residence also has free wifi for hotel guests at the restaurant (a short walk away), but we couldn't receive it from the room so we didn't use it. Instead we bought a Vodafone "Kartointernet" SIM card for 20 euros which comes with 2GB of data that lasts for 2 weeks. The Vodafone store is in the main part of Argostoli (not too far away).

We've spent a couple of weeks now exploring Kefalonia and Lassi is definitely our preferred base for holidays on this island. It's got a long street of excellent tavernas and we have really enjoyed all the meals we've had there. The San Lorenzo restaurant (attached to the Residence) is also excellent.

A helpful tip is that beach towels can be borrowed from the Village bar for a 10 euro deposit (which saves having to pack large bulky towels!).

So both the San Lorenzo Village and Residence definitely tick all of the boxes for us and we'll probably be back there again next year!

Let me start off by saying that this place was just brilliant. We (i.e. myself and my wife) had one of our best, most relaxed holidays here in the last two weeks in July. The room we had was superb . . . the kitchen had a microwave, kettle, MUGS, tea-towel, toaster, t-pot, spotless fridge, etc etc., and the safe-box was free! The bathroom was also really well put together and good quality fixtures and fittings.

The maid was in nearly every day and quickly learned we are not early risers! The sheets were changed regularly and the towels could have been changed daily if we wished, or every 3 days if we wanted to be “green”. We opted for the latter.

OK, one negative: the air-conditioning would probably have worked out quite expensive, had we used it. It was pay as you go (a euro an hour I think). We usually get the aircon when in the east Med and I seem to remember it’s usually costs about 50 euros a week. If we’d used it here (i.e. a few hours in the evening, getting ready to go out, then overnight, on low) we reckon we’d have racked up between 70 & 80 euros a week!

We didn’t think there was too much noise from the main road running past and the pool area always seemed fairly quiet, with enough sunbeds to go around.

The Residence is also really well placed for the restaurants and bars in Lassi, literally a 5 minute stroll to the end of the “strip” (don’t worry, we’re not talking Falaraki or Malia etc). It’s also about mid-way between the two beaches we frequented – the Mediterranee Hotel beach (slightly older average age, plus families, but fairly quiet and hence relaxing) and the Costa Costa beach (younger, hence generally better looking clientele, loud dance/trance music from the trendy bar/restaurant).

I’ve put reviews in on some of the better restaurants/bars – I have to admit we did the slightly sad thing of printing a list off here and working our way through them! Overall the standard was really good and I don’t think we had a bad meal.

It’s worth walking/taxi-ing over to Argostoli though. We popped over 3 times and I have to say that the food was definitely better (albeit slightly pricier).

OK, actually there is a second negative; however it’s nothing to do with the San Lorenzo Residence. We had a similar experience to another of the reviewers, in that we booked the San Lorenzo Village online and were put in the Residence instead. We saw the Thomas Cook Rep the day after we arrived and were told that we had definitely booked the Res rather than the Village and she could show us the page of the brochure to “prove” it. We explained that we booked online and she was adamant we had booked the Res. Later in the holiday we went to the Village and realised that we were definitely in the wrong accommodation. By chance we were chatting to the people in the room next to us and they said they were in the same boat, but that they had heard that the Thomas Cook website had a fault in Jan/Feb 2012 and some people were booked into the Res rather than the Village.

The only thing we were bothered about was that the Res is cheaper than the Village and hence we wondered whether we had paid the Village rate and therefore been over-charged. When we challenged the Rep she came clean about the online problem and we submitted a complaint form. We have since been told that we were charged correctly but were still given a £220 voucher for next year as compensation. A fair result, as far as we are concerned, especially since we normally book our main holiday with the Thomas Cook group.

Don’t get me wrong here, we thought the Res was great. It was probably in a slightly better position than the Village, for us at least. The Village did look really nice though – the views from the pool area and the rooms facing the sea were amazing and it was a quieter location.

Family of 5 stayed at the San Lorenzo residence for 2 weeks, mid season. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which also had 3 sofa beds in the main living area so there was plenty of room for us.
Apartments were very good - extremely modern and clean with everything you need for a holiday. The TVs did not work ( but who cares about that on holiday ) and the air con ( which you pay 50cents an hour to use ) was not powerful enough to keep the whole apartment cool, but these are tiny complaints.

All the staff were great and the cleaners visited every day to change towels/make beds and even finished our washing up for us. The lady who looked after the place was always very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

the pool was fab - small but perfectly formed, and never more than a handful of people around the pool so there were always plenty of sunbeds.

Yes, you were next to the main road, but then that is how Lassi is built, along a main strip. It never really bothered us, but if you really want total peace and quiet perhaps this is not the place for you.

You are spoiled for 3 of 4 beaches within walking distance - all great. The best one we found was if you head right out of the apartments, take a left towards the big hotel and then turn left again just before the first bar on the left. Follow this road for 5 mins and you get to a nice quiet beach where you can snorkel and see hundreds of colourful fish.

Plenty of good restaurants too - our fave was Veronica's and Oskars (go on a night where he does his dancing !!!).

If you are going to hire a car, wait til you get there and you will get a better deal. I pre-booked with Hertz and got terrible service for more money. There are loads around so don't bother arranging in advance, even in high season.

On the whole a lovely holiday and a fantastic accomodation.

Only problem was the midges ...... come prepared !

The San Lorenzo residence is located on the main road through Lassi which is busy as it is the through route to Agostolli (the capital) with a constant stream of lorries, cars and mopeds.
We travelled as a family with a 7 year old child and had booked the San Lorenzo Village apartments through the Thomas Cook website, as these are out of the centre, off the main road and very peaceful at night. So it came as a big shock to realise that when we arrived we had in fact been booked into the San Lorenzo residence - this was due to a website error on the part of Thomas Cook, so be very very careful when booking on line with Thomas Cook as this also happened to two other couples that we are aware of. As we were allocated a room that faced onto the road we did find it very noisy with alot of road noise and on a few evenings music and entertainment from nearby tavernas could be heard. This may not bother some travellers who like to stay out to the early hours whilst on holiday, but for us having a young son who needs his sleep we have to go to bed at a reasonable hour (11 o clock at the latest whilst in Greece) and it did bother us. Maybe rooms that were not facing the road would be better, I don't know.

Other than that the room was very nice and kept very clean with daily cleaning (except Sunday) and the staff were very friendly. The pool area was small but kept very clean and there were always plenty of sunbeds to go around (and we travelled during the summer holidays!). It was very relaxing and some days there were only a few people around the pool. I would also say that the crickets were very very noisy around the pool (probably due to the type of trees), so if you like total peace and quiet then you won't get it here.

Having not booked this accomodation we were obviously disappointed, and from our perspective we would not book to go back here, but this is because we specifically always chose accomodation well away from the resort centre and any busy roads. If you don't mind a bit of noise and like to be close to the tavernas and bars, then you'll be fine.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back should have less road noise
