My partner and I stayed here from 24/09/2013 to 01/10/2013, overall we think Dionysos is a good hotel and would recommend it to others.
The good...the grounds of the hotel were well kept; clean, tidy and overall made for beautiful surroundings. The view over Lassi was amazing and certainly added to a sense of relaxation being able to sit out on our veranda to watch the sun go down.
The hotel itself was very clean, including the pool area and the public bathrooms. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels and sheets changed regularly. The rooms are self catering, which we didn't really bother to do, preferring to eat out but the facilities available would have been enough to keep us going should we have wanted to cook for ourselves.
We didn't have much interaction with the staff but we did have was fine and they were generally friendly and attentive.
The not so good...the mattress was very thin and did not make for a comfortable nights sleep. We thought the cost of using the safe (10euro deposit plus 10euro per week) was a little steep and also 25euro to keep our room later on check out day seemed costly when the hotel was half empty due to nearing the end of season.
We only ate breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on the overall standard of food, but the breakfast was just mediocre. In hindsight we should have bought supplies at the local supermarket and took advantage of the toaster in our room.
Finally, the hill...my partner and I are reasonably fit people but it was certainly hard work coming up the hill, especially in the day time when the sun was still shining, I can't imagine what it would be like in peak summer. We also struggled to get our hired 4x4 up it on the one day it rained and had to leave it parked at the bottom.
That said, you certainly get the pay off with the stunning panoramic views and a chance to walk off you dinner! There are taxis in the town if you don't fancy it and overall it wouldn't put me off returning but may be less advisable to those who are less fit and not wanting to pay for taxi's or car hire.
