Kalypso Houses
Reviewed June 4, 2011

My family of 4 felt that our stay at Kalypso House "Elia" was truly a highlight of our European travels. The house is gorgeous and spacious, with beautiful decorative details throughout. The private bathrooms off of every bedroom were unique and spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. We were also thrilled with the beautiful private pool and grounds. We loved exploring the island and then coming back to the tranquility of the house. In fact, it was hard to tear ourselves away from the pool! We enjoyed walks down the beach, which is very close. A special part of the experience was Evi, who greeted us as if we were family. She was available to answer any and all questions. She gave us a number of restaurant recommendations, which were all wonderful. After I asked her about some of her favorite recipes, she offered to make moussaka with me one day. It was a wonderful experience and will be a fond memory of the trip. The dish was fabulous! We felt that we made a lifelong friend. It was difficult for us to leave, as we had such a wonderful time. We would love to return to Kalypso house one day. I highly recommend this incredible home.

I've been at Kalypsos House during my second trip with my boyfriend to Santorini. The first year was amazing, but i can't belive it.. the second was the even better! This thanks to Kalypso houses and their fantastic owners...
They delighted us with friendly but very discreet welcome during our September stay..
They picked us up at the airport, bringing us to the private villa with swimming pool oriented to the sea, welcoming us at the veranda with an apertizer .. wow!!
They offered us a special and charming dinner prepeared for us only near to the pool and suggested the best location and restaurant to visit. Beach and sea near the corner.
Clean, confortable.. and very cozy solution!! I can guarantee the vacation has been lovely!!
Next year we can't change .. Kalypsos we are coming :)
Hope this description can be useful for you all...
Laura & Angelo

PS. no doubts about the near airport, no noise at all. We only suggest you to rent a car to reaaly discover all the beauties of the island (but you'll need it in every Santorini stay)

The best trip to Santorini. The hotel is amazing, nice architect, everything traditional and well made.
The owner took us from the port and helped us any time we wanted anything.
The barbeque, the swimming pool, the beach in front of us, not crowded at all...
I'll certainly go again.

Tip: Try Santorini with bicycle...

We stayed with extended family in both Daphne and Elias House. The accommodations were perfect, comfortable beds, modern bath, lovely gardens and swimming pool. Evi is a wonderful hostess, cook, guide. We did have difficulty finding the house, they need a sign and it is near the airport so the early flights taking off were tough but who sleeps in on vacation. It is close enough to Fira and Oie to drive but far away from the tourists stuff. Evi's meals were better than any we had on the island. There are close-by tavernas and it is in walking distance to Kameri either via the beach or the road.

We spent 3 nights at 'Daphne' house with 3 friends. During the day we toured the island by bike (highly recommended!) - the owner picked us up from the port, so don't hesitate. Remarkable interior design, exclusive swimming pool, and great dinners at the BBQ area, we had amazing fish and fine local wine. Just 50m from a huge but quiet black pebble beach. We also enjoyed kayak by the famous Caldera, another service provided by the hotel. The owner was our guide. The trip from Monolithos to Oia (34km both ways) was an extraordinary bike route. Note that the houses are on the island's least spoiled part. Just try it!!

We stayed at the Daphne with our two young children of 5 and 1
We were extremely well looked after and the villa was perfect for our needs
The owners came to the airport to direct us directly to the villa and as the villa is only a few miles from Fira , it is a wonderful place to explore the island

Kamari village is a couple of miles away
