We first came to Stavros villas 2005 since then he has expanded but it is still like staying old friends. Stavros helps with renting a car, and gave us some delicious home made wine, which tasted good and potent. A lovely pool too. The location was ideal for us, near to enough tavernas and supermarkets, and a 30 mins walk to the bustling Fira, which was busy even in early season, with the usual annoyance of shopkeepers hassling you to spend your money in their shop. Stavros met us at the port and dropped us off when it was to e to leave. If necessary Stavros would have given us a lift into fira, in fact whilst we were there he got a phone call from two young girls who were guests at Stavros villas, they lost their was back from fira, he jumped into his car and collected them. We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I spent a week at stavros, First of all Stavros picked us up at the port for free. He recommended us places to go and helped us hire a ATV which made our lives easier and saved us time. we went during the easter week and he and his family cooked lunch for us (invited evryone staying at the Villa) BBQ some lamb .We also had some of his home made wine and danced to greek music. The best part was when we had to check out of our room but had the whole day on the island, Stavros let us stay in our room for no extra charge and drove us to the Port that night without us paying any extra money. Our stay at stavros was personal and he and his family made us feel at home: they are really humble and kind people. Our stay at Stavros made this to be the best trip ever!!!

It is situated 1km downhill from the main street into Fira and Fira would be about another 1km. It is 2km down to the beach. The room had no views and was big and clean with a small kitchenette with no cooking utinsels. I'm not not sure is you are supposed to ask but I did ask for a pot and got one. The bathroom worked well and if I needed the aircondioner on, then it also worked well. However it was very noisy at times because I could here the goings on in the reception area. Stavros and his family are very friendly and helpful. If you are a woman on your own, just be careful of Greek men.

We booked to stay at Stavros Villas for 8 days but when we were picked up by Stavros (a really friendly guy) we were told we were going to Emmanouela Villas as there was a 'plumbing problem' at Stavros. While we enjoyed it here and it's about 5 mins closer to Fira than StavrosV, it was apparent that they overbook Stavros villas and put the overflow into the other hotels he owns. They are nice, but don't have the views or a pool. We had to go down to the StavrosV to have a swim, and watch Stavros checking in lots of other guests! If you want to stay specifically at Stavros Villas, you might not get it. Stavros and his wife Maria are very nice and give you great help and advice, and good deals for rentals and trips. If we hadn't gotten moved, the trip would have been 5 stars.

We stayed at Stavros Villas for a few days while we were in Santorini. I must say: so hospitable, family run and friendly! Stavros (the owner) is one of the most humble, friendly and selfless guys you'll ever meet. My buddy was sick when we got there. Right away Stavros offered to bring him to the pharmacy.

Breakfast is 5 euros a day extra, but soooooo worth it for the quality and quantity of the food you get. Once again, the entire family was so welcoming and bent over backwards for us.

After Santorini, we headed to Ios. After a mixup with my ferry back to Athens, I had to stop by (once again) in Santorini to catch a plane instead. Who did I see at the port in Santorini? Stavros, of course! After explaining to him what happened, he immediately offered to bring me to the airport, which is across the island.

All in all, the place was beautiful, clean, cheap and just overall perfect. Location is also not bad. You cannot go wrong with this place.

Room Tip: Let Stavros handle tickets to the volcano and renting a car.

We travelled throughout Greece and Turkey and this was our only bad experience! Thanks to all the other places we stayed, but though best to write this as it was so bad. Upon check in and after saying no to rent a car from the owner "Stavros" - it went downhill. The owner's daughter is lovely, but the girl who works with her (also blonde but quite large and with a German accent) is the girlfriend of the car hire place and she was horrible and ruined our stay. She was incredibly rude. Upon check out she accused us of stealing a towel, using the hose to rinse our feet without permission and sold us a tour that was clearly not suitable for kids under 12 (ours are 5 so there is no mistaking the age). They have produced a German brochure which has used another hotel photos and not of this site and it's miles from anywhere - you cannot walk to any shops. It is sad to intentionally misguide people who have spent money to travel and have a few weeks off to holiday. Choose somewhere honest. Don't stay here.

Room Tip: There are front and back rooms however none are better than the other.

The family who owns this hotel/villa is unbelievably welcoming. They take you in like you're family. The place is gorgeous, although a wee bit of a walk into town... it's easy and cheap to rent scooters. They offer a helping hand in setting up your entire vacation. Make sure you have breakfast with him at least once, it's freaking delicious and worth the 5 euros!
I would stay here again in a heart beat.

ps. try the frappe, he makes the best Frappes i've ever tried.
