My partner and I have just returned from Stavros Crete staying for two weeks at the Paradice Hotel. Although the hotel was full it did not feel that way as we often had the pool area to ourselves. It is a quiet hotel situated near a beautiful beach and a few restaurants all serving wonderful traditional Cretan food. The hotel is decorated and furnished to a very high ‘boutique’ standard and kept spotlessly clean by Stella, the lovely Greek lady who will make time to stop and chat. Stella cleans the rooms daily, and changes linen and towels. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and with balconies where you can enjoy an evening drink. All rooms are equipped with a fridge so you can stock up on fruit, drinks etc from the nearby supermarket, rooms also have hairdryer, telephone and air con.
Breakfast is served when you get up, just stroll down to the pool area, help yourself to coffee and juice and breakfast will be freshly cooked and brought to you. We loved that each day the food was different from bacon and eggs, cheese, ham, toast, yogurt, honey, fruit etc. Again, each morning the pool area was quiet, the food cooked well and a great way to start the day.
The owners Vicky and Mathew and their three sons are fantastic hosts. We spent many evenings chatting to them in the reception area. They cannot do enough to make you feel welcome in their home. They will do anything to ensure you enjoy your holidays. They will advise on car rental, bus times, good restaurants, anything. We feel we have made good friends with this truly lovely family and will be returning for many years to come.
It is without doubt the best hotel in Greece that we have ever visited, if you want a quiet relaxing holiday in a first class hotel then visit Paradice Hotel. 10 out of 10.
Thank you Vicky and Mathew for a wonderful holiday. Lorraine and Dean

We stayed there for one day because we didnt like it.
The staff was very friendly,The room was clean. But we couldnt sleep at night due to the bad mattress. It was worst night we ve ever had!We had a baby that couldnt sleep at all.The room didnt have shampoo neither hairdryer.Things that you certainly find them in a 4 star hotel! The swimming pool was dirty and breakfast was 2 eggs with a little ham and cheese and some bread.

Paradice hotel is a very nice looking hotel. It's not very big so it has a warm family feeling and its not noisy like other hotels we've been to. The rooms are always clean and organized, and has a little balkony to sit and relax. Viki, the owner of the hotel, is a very nice and kind women and will help you with everything you need: food, interesting places to go to and more. There's a free wifi as well, and computers in the loby which you can use. The hotel is located 10 k.m. (6.2 miles) from the center of Chania, so my tip to you is: rent a car and get an offline GPS navigation device.
we had a really good time and highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rent a car and get a GPS navigation device, it can save you time and you'll be able to see more places in Chania and generally in crete.

Paradice Hotel is a family run hotel. Vicky and her family put their heart and soul into running their hotel and it really shows. Each room is decorated differently in Vicky's nice taste and style. Nothing is too much trouble and Vicky went out of her way to help us with car rental, directions, horse riding for our daughter, more directions and directions again! We happened to meet Vicky at the mini market one day before we had our rental car and she gave us a lift back to the hotel. They also gave us a lift to the airport on the day we left. She recommended lots of local places to eat (Bahar was very nice), see, visit and shop. All with a friendly cheery, helpful attitude.
The room we had was a decent size with double bed, armchair, dressing table, childs bed, wardrobe and fridge and balcony. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom and ours had a sink, shower and toilet. Our bathroom was a reasonable size with plenty of room to move around. The rooms and rest of the hotel are spotlessly clean.
Breakfast is delicious and cooked by Vicky, who makes something different everyday.
Our daughter loved the refreshing pool and we think this has helped her confidence in the water. It was hard to keep her out of it! There are sun loungers placed by and near the pool so you can relax whenever you like. The hotel has plenty of parking in their underground car park. We rented a car so we could visit Chania (about 30 mins away) and a few other places. The hotel is not far from Stavros beach where there are a few places to eat and a nearby mini market (which seems to sell just about everything!).
Vicky and her family are so nice and welcoming, we were sad to leave. They really do make their hotel feel like home.
We had a lovely week and look forward to staying again.

The hotel is well situated near to a small beach and several relaxing places to eat. The family who run the place are charming and friendly. The rooms are adequately furnished. Our balcony room (which was in the main building), overlooked the courtyard and pool and was sufficient for our needs. The only drawback was the minute bathroom which, if either of us had been 'a person of size', might have been difficult to use. As it was I had to stand in the shower in order to use the sink to shave!

Although the hotel was full there was no sense of being crowded. There were a number of sunbeds and other poolside furniture to relax in and on.

We would suggest that if considering staying in Stavros Beach for more than a couple of days you might want to consider renting a car. Chania is 30 minutes drive away and there are of course plenty of places to visit within an hour's drive.

Overall, no complaints, and as someone else has said, a gem of a place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool.
