We have always stayed at the Blue Sea hotel. We were never made to feel as welcome as we were at the Anastasia. Hotel and staff are fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. We will be going again next year and taking all our family! Many thanks to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable. We have visited Crete for the past 9 years and loved it here!

We were fortunate to stay in the anastasia as part of a cruise/stay trip so sampled two different accomodation rooms at the beginning and end of the holiday.Where do we start?Michaelis and all the staff can't do enough to ensure you have a good time. The choices of food were good and catered for all tastes, plenty of sunbeds around the three pools and good family entertainment in the evenings-but not too in your face.Although the hotel is in malia it is away from the party revellers ,as you need to cross the underpass of a busy road to reach the beaches of malia or stalis. We used the local transport to get to Ag Nic and Heraklion which was reasonable-the buses only 5 mins away.Definitely worth a return visit.

Having returned from our 2 week stay at the Anastasia, I can honestly say this was a very nice hotel to stay. We arrived at around 5.45am, and was met by Johan on reception. It took a matter of minutes to check in, and then he showed us to our room, carrying the heaviest of our cases for us. He showed us how the air con worked, and made sure we were happy with everything before he left.
The whole hotel is spotless. It is cleaned every day, and the maids really work fast to keep everything as clean as possible. Towels are changed every couple of days, and bed linen every 3 days. The pool area is cleaned every morning before anyone is there, and is always tidy.
The food at the hotel is adequate, and what you'd expect for a 3 star half board hotel. There's usually enough choice for everyone's taste. Even my fussy 14 year old daughter never went hungry.
You are a just a short walk from the centre of Stalis, about 10 mins, which is nice in the evening to walk off that extra desert you will have at dinner. There are plenty of Bars & restaurants to choose from, most are aimed at families. We favoured the Beachcomber Bar, where they do excellent Cocktails for a reasonable price.
The evening entertainment at the hotel is a bit poor. We stayed in some nights and went out others. The Karaoke night is a good laugh, and the Greek night is ok. Avoid the 3 Mystic Men 'magic' show. This is utter rubbish, and worth going out on that night.
The staff at the hotel are all very friendly, and anything you want you usually get within 24 hours of asking. ie extra pillow, batteries for remote etc. Nothing is too much trouble, and it is all dealt with in a friendly manner.
Overall, this is an excellent hotel for families and couples, and I would definitley recommend staying there if you go to Stalis. If we go back to Crete in the future, I would stay at this hotel again..

Dear Guests,

I would like to thank you for your nice words regarding our Hotel.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our Hotel.

Now, for the correct information of our guests just to let you know that both the Greek Night and the 3 Mystic Men are free of charge Shows.

According to our questionnaires, 95% of our guests loved the 3 Mystic Men Cabaret Show, some times rated even better than the Greek Night , and also in my personal opinion is a fantastic Show with Songs, Games, Disco Dancing and Illusions.

Thank you

Michael Fotakis

Having never stayed in a hotel before I can honestly say it was a true holiday for me. The rooms were great - we had a family room which was actually 2 adjoining rooms. Spotlessly clean and spacious, with very quiet air con. The pool area was great, with no battle for sun beds. Our children had a great time and made loads of friends who they have been chatting to on MSN since we got back. In fact it was an effort to get them to leave the hotel to go our for a drink or to the beach. This did suit us as the local area wasn't great, very busy traffic with no pavements and as our friends said, the hotel was like an oasis.
The staff were wonderful, dedicated to ensuring we had a lovely time. The food was delicious, loads of choice and something for everyone. The entertainment was just right, not too in your face and you could join in if you wanted to.
The whole atmosphere of the hotel was very friendly as it isn't too big.
As a group of 8 we all agreed it was a lovely hotel, with Michael giving attention to all aspects and even coming to wave us off when we left!
I would definately recommend this hotel to friends, but with the £ performing so poorly against the euro, I would advise taking quite a bit of spending money.

We found our 2 weeks at Hotel Anastasia very pleasant. Our friends had been the previous year + suggested we join them. As retired hoteliers we can sympathise with Michail + his excellent team in how difficult it is to please all.
From the lovely welcome to the superb company that we met, lots of repeat clients, we did spend a lot of time in + around the hotel which is where we relaxed the most.
Rooms were spotless, if you required anything it was with you immediately ie: extra hangers ect. Food was of a good standard but if you didn't fancy to eat in the hotel it was a short walk to hundreds of eateries ( good fillet in Mambo ).
Everyone went out on a limb to make sure you enjoyed the entertainment nights, of which we attended all + had such a hoot + that to us is what a holiday is all about.
We will return, such a shame it closes for the winter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

having read all the reviews before we went we were looking forward to sampling the hospitality as much as the break, i must say we were not dissapointed. The food, service & cleanliness were first class. The entertainment was low key but suffice for a relaxing fun holiday (Michael on the karaoke was an experience !). The fact that not only was the water like a bath every day but not having to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a sunbed was pure bliss. The only downside was the cost of living, with the pound being so low againgst the euro everything is far dearer than we brits are used to. still we were expecting it so it didnt spoil our holiday. All in all this hotel deserves all the praise heaped on it and i would urge anyone looking for a great hotel to book now to avoid dissapointment !
